Rumor: Milton possibly out for season

The thing about Rusty’s injury is there’s no real clear video of it that I’ve seen, it happened in the line within a bunch of twisted bodies, I’m trying to remember the game I think it was the team from out west, it was like Arizona or Arizona State wasn’t it?
Yes...Arizona in 1993...I talked with Rusty at a UM HOF Induction several yrs ago about the injury...He stated he didn't think it was a cheap shot...But I, and a bunch of his teammates don't agree...

I’m wondering if it’s similar to Rusty Medearis’ injury. I understand his injury was similar to accidents with cars and involved very complex and invasive surgery. I also heard or read it was of such severity that it could have resulted in amputation. He tried coming back wasn’t to be.
Not surprised at the spinal problems derived from the knee injury. I have a very bad foot. Physiatrists and PTs have talked about the kinetic chain and how distortions in gait have contributed to some hip and back issues.
Hope you’re successful going forward in dealing with these problems. I feel for you. I go to a pain specialist for occasional injections, do PT from time to time, use non-narcotic painkillers when necessary.
Yeah its crazy how badly your whole body breaks down once you get lower extremity injuries. All I can do is stretch, do light work outs and try to stay ahead of the pain.

Again, thanks for your service, and you’re right about things breaking down. I didn’t have the horrific type injuries that you did, fortunately my lower body injuries have been manageable, but joint injuries sure have a way of just getting worse over time don’t they?

I have two herniated discs C3/C4 which are supposedly not that common in the general population but more common if you’ve played football. They just keep getting worse over time. Same thing with my shoulders. Again, nothing that compares to what you had, but you do pay a price as you start to get in middle age and beyond. I just basically learn to live with a certain level of pain.

exactly, what was manageable 10 years ago is much more difficult today and injuries like herniated discs tend to get worse as you age.

I have to believe the leg injury led to overcompensation which in turn led to the foot issue. Honestly, I’m kind of glad for the kid because I just didn’t see things going well for him this year. I’d hate to see a kid who rehabbed so hard from an injury that almost took his leg go out and just get destroyed trying to play behind that FSU line.

That said, fvck the noles, fvck their coaches, fvck their fans. I hope they go 0-12.

You are assuming that F$U doesn't cancel any games at the last minute...

The rumor was that they don't know what they will actually get out of him. They are managing his time in practice. We'll see what happens if he gets hit in games.
