Ruiz to “scale back” NIL money?

College kids aren't a better advertising investment than movie stars, musicians, or pro athletes in cities that have them, or for national reach to places that don't.

Long term, it won't be about bang for the buck off the field, because this is not a prudent advertising/promotional investment outside of very situational small businesses in small communities, or if the dollar amount is small for these companies. It will be about how much rich boosters can/want to pay for success, and a pathway for them to do so that is above board.

Yes he did get the bang for his buck this year. Nigel Pack and LifeWallet were on espn every 30 mins for nearly a week. Same with every other sports channel or show. Life wallet has already had a 10 min E60 spot about it as well as Josh Pate and Colin Cowerherd segments out it. He definitely got his moneys worth for his new company. Obviously that return goes down as its no longer a splash story next year. But you all are wrong if you think Miami doesnt have a very diverse and large NIL environment. Kamuri Rogers had 16 deals in less than 3 months on campus and 3-4 were national brands. Are they huge? No probably not as a freshman with no PT at the time of signing, but our athletes are doing well with NIL outside of Ruiz.

Examples of the deals?

That's the issue imo, no one knows the deals

American Airlines still have a Hub at MIA?

Why couldn't they sign someone?

What happened to the guy that owns fast food chicken place that giving deals to other schools but is a Miami guy?

Why is that “the issue”? Do you know the details of any athlete anywhere else? You and I don’t need to know the deals, only the agents of the athletes do.

Ruiz tweeting out a few fewer times a year is not going to cause problems.

I saw the episode on ESPN "NIL King". He's gotten his money's worth in publicity for Life wallet through his NIL contributions this year. Not sure the same amount of public interest continues next season. Regardless, we need multiple sources for NIL contributions.

I mean seeing the athletes and deals. I see commercials with that LSU gymnast and clothing line. See others getting airline deals. The Hooters deal.

Granted I don’t follow anyone on social media so maybe missing it

Exactly. Why on earth would anyone need to know the details of these deals. The average Joe fan knowing, or not knowing, the details of these deals is totally irrelevant and has no impact on NIL strategy.
