Romberg Gets It

their defense is better but by your logic - UGA is trash on D bc their best defense ever gave up 41 to Bama right?

You can make all the leaps you want, but I'll just keep using your actual words against you.

Heupel, the scheme god, doesn't need to outrecruit people. He just outschemes them. But at UCF, he had Larry Coker's record of getting worse each year.

Oh, they would destroy us. But they have better players than we do.

Do you understand what Mario did to Ohio State last year?
that 6-4 UCF team has better talent than this miami team lol.

do you understand what Mario did to Stanford and Utah? come on now. we gonna do this w Mario. hes forever gonna lose games he shouldn't. its bc he can't coach x and o and he doesn't do anything overly special as a coach and his philosophy lends to being in closer games than we should be given the overall talent advantage.

**** man look at dillinghams offense a transfer QB this year at Oregon w Marios guys. theyre far better than they were under Mario.

do me a favor. go look at what happened in his time at UCF. go look at Dillon Gabriels development after getting thrown in there as a true frosh once KZ got hurt. then look at Gabriel w Gus the Bus.

Yeah, KZ got hurt at the end of Heupel's first season. Then he had a worse second season despite having all year to get the next guy ready. Then his third season was even worse.

Scheme god.

So if you lose to someone with less talent, you're not a good coach? Just want to get it on record.

What kind of accountability is Mario putting on his players? Who are they players who aren’t putting in the work and why are they playing? Who’s getting benched? Who’s being punished? I don’t see anyone being held accountable. I see a bunch of bs tough talk from coaches and excuse making while they continue to get crushed by teams that suck. They’re not even getting beat by good teams.
No one... he just said everyone is hunky dory... he reviewed film

all year to get the next guy ready? you didnt know what happened at UCF at all. kz got hurt. he had gone w mack to start who then got hurt. then brought in wimbush to take over when mack went down right w a broken ankle. I mean none of that matters? on top of that Gabriel came in once he took over and lit it up w heuphal.

I don’t disagree with a lot of your points but there were a lot of hints by Cribby and other insiders that they expected people to transfer out and in the end, did not.

Should have brought in more transfers for sure and I think there is also the human part where you think you can change some guys or at least I am going to find out if any can change and adapt and then go from there. You posted before that a good coaching staff should take a 7-5 team and get 2-3 more victories.

I am with you there but I now believe we over value what we had and also missed on some coaching hires that haven’t made the situation any better.
There was some ridiculous predictions about transfers , some people were saying 12-15. I never saw that coming but I expected more than a few. A few I hinted at left later than I expected. Clarke being one.

Running back to your room to post meh HL’s might be the most pathetic thing I’ve seen. Most of these cats are individuals that could care less about a loss or disrespect by the other team.
Which is why Mario has an even bigger job than I thought he did. Maybe it was head in the sand but I didn't realize the problem was this bad until last Saturday. That was a real eye opener for me.

Were they "lighting people up" in that 6-4 season, or was it another season you're talking about? Because we would want a 6-4 coach fired.

I'm not on board with Romberg here. Every 18-22 year old kid all over the country is doing the same **** thing win or lose. Us old guys cannot apply our way of thinking to what kids are doing. Instead, you have to adapt. But, anyways, we didn't lose b/c of heart or culture or because we're not tough or don't have enough "dawgs" or "savages," we lost because we can't pick up a blitz, we turned it over 8 times, our QB went down with injury, and we have an offensive scheme stuck in like 2015 or something like that.

Josh Heupel is being set up as the next recipient of the Pat Hill Flavor of the Week Award.

It’s everyone’s fault. There’s bad coaching and putting guys in bad spots on both sides of the ball. There’s also quitters and soft kids who need to move on after the season. That said there needs to be some coaches leaving with them. It’s a big mess.
I know Mario sees it from the players but are you hearing that he sees the same for the coaches that need to leave? Really hoping we don't have another Al Golden situation on our hands. I guess Mario will get a mulligan on the coaching staff for this season but he better get it right next year. I hope he knows this.

Prob goes both ways right now, the coaches don’t like the players and the players don’t like the coaches. Stalemate

The proof is in the pudding. These players crushed Duke last year. They got smoked this year. Did the players all just forget how to play? Or does this staff not put them in the best position to win games?

Hilarious take we've seen all weekend from the disgruntled.

Miami had TVD throwing to Rambo and a much-improved Harley last fall. Those two combined for 11 catches for 197 yards in the 2021 match-up, while Restrepo had two grabs for 30 yards and a score.

That's 13 receptions for 227 yards and three touchdowns from three key guys on the field who weren't out there this year—while Van Dyke (who threw for 381 yards and those three touchdowns last year) missed the second half of this game, while his replacement fumbled and coughed up three interceptions—Garcia with HALF of Miami's eight turnovers, including a pick six, while his fumble gave the Blue Devils the ball at the 25-yard line.

Duke also had Gunnar Holmberg at quarterback (who threw for 148 yards and an interception), instead of the feisty Riley Leonard, who took Miami to school a week after he played great in a heartbreaking loss to North Carolina.

Any more brain-busters and reasons to comprehend why last year's 47-10 win at Duke has nothing to do with this year's 45-21 home loss to the Blue Devils?

A Rambo and Harley that this fanbase thought was trash before Lashlee got ahold of them? OU fans said Rambo was a drop machine and they didn’t want him. They wanted younger guys to play. So the question is do you think those guys put up anywhere close to the same stats now? The answer is obvious. The scheme made those guys.

Have you ever considered under Manny there wasn't accountability and now the new big boy coaching staff is putting big boy pressure on the players and they don't like it?

Mario and the staff know this team for the most part is a bunch of guys who have been coddled their whole life being told they will be stars so they come in thinking they can do whatever and don't have to work hard. They all thought they would put on that U and then go to the NFL. The difference between most teams isn't necessarily talent. It's players willing to put in the real work to be better than everyone else. That's Mario's challenge. Get the players who want to outwork their opponents and their own teammates.
So the reason we lost to MTSU and Duke is because Mario is such a tough guy that our players aren't responding?

Scheme sucks. Coaches suck.
