Romberg Gets It

So you're arguing without actually knowing any facts. Lol.

Again, take your L's, crawl into a hole and change your username for the 10th time.

There you go again. It's personal for you. That's not healthy.

None of us know any facts. You have literally zero insight into what is being done or attempted during the week.

A good staff takes 7-5 talent and gets two or three more wins out of them. Poor leaders take a position, proceed to fail terribly and then blame their failure on the players they inherited. You don’t have to get worse to get better. That’s a time buying excuse for failing leadership

If you walk into a mediocre organization and everyone has half-assed their way into their current jobs, what makes you think there isn't a chance to take a step backward before you get the right people and system in place?

I don’t have any social media , never have. I just see it on here.
Only social media that I have is the gram. Used to follow some players. It was nice seeing them doing community oriented sh*t and all that. Then came the pics posted in front of cars with the fresh fits and kicks etc. promoting NIL deal —during game week, after a loss etc.
Then the highlight from the one good play they made ( during a loss) coupled with some cliche quotable from trendiest song/artist of the day. Ex. “ they hate, but I’m still around”.
I’m paraphrasing but it’s always cryptic to the point where I couldn’t tell if it was motivational or a threat to transfer. Dead serious. It was so soft I had no unfollow all of them immediately.

the getting worse to get better doesn't actually work either. unless you got UGA bags, you gotta win to land talent. Kirby had a 8-5 year in year 1 but finished it off w an elite recruiting class. we aren't landing a top 5 class this year. we also aren't winning 8 games or even 7 lol. there is no reward for taking losses in college.

The proof is in the pudding. These players crushed Duke last year. They got smoked this year. Did the players all just forget how to play? Or does this staff not put them in the best position to win games?
So you are going with the average at best ACC players who at times played ok but went 7-5 in a weak conference over a coaching staff made up of guys who have been part of multiple championship teams? Makes perfect sense.

And you're only focused on the coaching.
We should be, from game one the players came out flat. We are still in discipline. We still make bonehead mistakes. How many cycles of recruiting do we have to go through until we can correct those mistakes? how many recruiting cycles do we need to go through before we bench somebody for making a bonehead play in a critical moment of the game?

I keep hearing culture, but I keep seeing the same thing. I said before put some butts on the bench that might start developing a little culture. Kick somebody off the team that might develop a little culture. I would find it very hard to respect a leader that put lazy players on the field. That put guys with that attitude on the field. To put guys that made the same mistakes over and over on the field. I might not be ready to go but I know my hearts bigger than theirs as I wait for my chance and watch them destroy the program. Eventually the culture will catch up with me as well.

This program needed to be gutted and it wasn’t. We still have people walk in the halls collecting paychecks, preaching that they know the way. Figureheads that do nothing but distract from the program. The past is long gone, we need to future.

Tennessee has been as bad as us for 20 years.

How was he supposed to gut it in one off-season?

they also finally hired an X and O guy who can out scheme anyone. they didnt beat Bama bc of recruiting. they beat Bama taking a bad VT Qb and putting him into a friendly system and out scheming their defense. we aren't going to win the Mario way (out talent the other team). we gotta win by our x and os bc well never land the elite elite classes people think were getting. this is our bump class and its outside of the top 10 and hasn't had a commitment in months with multiple holes that still need to be filled (DT, DB, S, WR, RB).

Tennessee improved on their win total in year 1 w heuphal. they are now going to surpass that this year.

In other words, you can put a great team on the field even after 20 years of losing, despite your previous claim that you have to win to land recruits.

We have talented players, but some of these players are coddled. Some times you have to take a step back to move forward. I don't want it to seem that I'm making excuses for the coaching staff, I think they need to be evaluated and some need to move on after this season. But, going from Manny to Mario is a 180 in terms of personality. If some players aren't playing hard because the new staff doesn't coddle them and appeal to their ego, fck em.

Most accurate post in this thread.

you think Tennessee fixed their talent deficit in 2 seasons w heuphal? hes not a recruiter lol. hes a x and o guy. they finally figured out that you can win by having the better coach (actual coach not a talent collector). we dont have the better coach most weekends but we have a talent collector. the issue is we aren't going to collect talent at the pace everyone thinks we will (at the Bama UGA OSU level) so were gonna have to make a decision there. Tennessee is great bc of their coach not bc of talent. they didnt sit there and out recruit the world to beat Bama this year. they beat Bama by having worse talent but having the better x and o.

It’s not who I’m siding with. It’s plain as day. This staff) inherited a 7-5 team and has made them worse. That’s it. The end. Everything else is excuse making.

Also, what championship team has anyone on this staff coached at their current position. Oh wait, only one. Addae won a title as DB coach at UGA and has probably been the worst coach on the staff so far. Well, Josh Gattis is giving him a run for the money.

Accountability starts at the top. Once again, if we have a “cUlTuRe PrObLeM” why are these kids still playing let alone even on the team? At this point just bench everyone if that’s the case. What’s the worst that can happen? We already get blown out by garbage teams every week.
If you have 80 kids on the team and 30-40 are the issue, can’t cut all of them and just play the season with 40-50 kids. I mean, I guess you can sit 10-15 of them but let them expose themselves.

addae had as much to do with the UGA title as I did. he had been handheld by Kirby and Champ in his one year there.

Tennessee’s recruiting classes have actually been worse under Heupel than they were under their previous staff. They have good players but it’s not because Heupel cut all the upper classmen and brought in his own guys.

Uh oh......this has a chance of not aging well. That staff went 7-6 last year. If they didn't need talent, and it's all about the playcalling, why did they get blown out multiple times in 2021?

he isnt a recruiter. hes never bene one. hes a scheme god though. his offenses were good at UCF and were good at Tennessee instantly. he took a trash can VT qb and turned him into this.

I think it’s a combo. Up 7-0, about to go up 14-0, but can’t get 1 yard on 4th down and then the two fumbles right after. They were on their way to crushing Duke again.

Players failed, coaching certainly failed. Changes need to happen on both.
