Romberg Gets It

We're halfway through season one. Bet you *** on a mass exodus from this program at season's end and Miami coaches hitting the portal, a la Michigan State in 2021—where they had 33 new roster players (including the recruiting class and 19 from the portal) when the 2021 season kicked off.

Miami hired Andrew Rodgers in January 2022, the Spartans recruiting assistant who helped Mel Tucker with that portal haul, as well. The 2023 Canes won't resemble these 2022 imposters.
This is the only chance they have. If they can fit the roster and restock they might be able to improve next year. There are coaches who need to be purged too though because nobody wants to play for them.

Not a massive social media guy but I don’t follow any players lol. Forget that nonsense
Same here, I make it a habit to not get tied into social media. But from gathering on this forum, it looks like these players are comfortable getting curb stomped by a horrid Duke team, so long as they have highlights for the gram.

While people are making excuses for why a 12-2 team wasn't really that good. It goes both ways.
I’m not talking about Oregon from four years ago. I don’t care about them. I care about Miami now. And why has Miami gone from an average ACC team to one of the worst teams in the country.

And you're only focused on the coaching.
hes saying this team this roster went 7-5 (basically our average for 20 years). this year we will be 4-8 5-7 at best. hes asking for you to explain it? remember there is no 12 win Bama and 11 win MSU on this years schedule to give us 2 of the 5 losses.

Apparently it's because we're calling the wrong plays. Our kids our working hard and want nothing more than to win, but those darn play calls are turning them into MAC players.

so explain why the same group of guys (largely the same) could be 2 games worse by the end of it. if its not coaches, then who? they were better last year in every facet of the game and that doesn't mean much bc they still went 7-5.

You forgot a meme to go along with your lol.

In 2019, when Mario finished 12-2, the ACC had #3 Clemson and #24 Virginia.

You're the typical dude who when gets proven wrong over and over, than double's down on dumbness. You're whole argument before was Mario is losing because he has a roster full of players that aren't his and are bad. Yet I just showed you he lost every year to teams he should NEVER have to lost to while at Oregon.

In two of the four seasons he was there he lost to two teams he shoud never to lose in the same season, with rosters constructed by him. So that argument is disproven. But of course, you follow it up with, well who are the coaches who don't do that. Lol.

You're next argument was the Pac-12 is better than the ACC. Yet in only 1 year while Mario was HC at Oregon did the Pac-12 have more than 1 team finish ranked at the end of the season. The ACC outpeformed the Pac-12 during those 4 years with more teams finishing the years ranked, and also bringing home a NC. So again, you're argument was disproven.

Take your L's and move on.

It's why I continue to bang the drum that we have cancer within the football team. Mario hired the wrong coordinators, that's clear. But you don't lose a team this quickly without seeing that there's serious rot. There needs to be a purge within the program.
We all expected guys to bounce when Mario got here but other than a few he wanted to evaluate what he had. He coaches hard and expects physical / mental toughness. I‘m sure he knew what he was doing. Theres guys on this team obviously wore down from the new way of doing things, they’ve never had to push through or fight like this. That’s the part of culture people don’t catch. It’s always been easier to quit.

It’s just my opinion but it smells of guys tapping out. This is a culture shock and I can’t blame them after what they’ve dealt with the last few years. This years portal will be as the kids say “ lit”. Coming and going.

There you go. It's one or the other. Just own it. Doesn't make you a bad guy.

That's what this seems to me. I'm less concerned about Mario, especially with Zo and Rad in the office now. I'm sure they're going to be in his ear about a philosophy change, and he's yet to show a stubbornness there; that could just me being overly positive.

But we have quitters on this team and they need to go. This is why I was always a fan of Dabo's no social media stance during the season.

Ah, here we go with the personal angle. It's just a matter of time with some of you guys. Just an FYI....if you're going to call a person dumb, learn how not to make 3rd grade mistakes like "you're whole argument". It takes away your credibility.

Yes, I want to see the list of college football coaches who don't lose to teams they shouldn't lose to. Take your time and give me that list.

Go away with the Pac12 thing. Winning 12 games in any P5 conference means you know what you're doing.

Do me a favor: find Ohio State's home losses in their last 70 home games.

At the risk of inciting a @SWFLHurricane rant .... Romberg was rag dolled against O*U and was literally one of the top three reasons we don't officially have a 6th ring (1. Terry Porter 2. Not burning Frank Gore's redshirt and 3. Romberg being abused).

Yup. Our players just aren’t good. We don’t have the talent to matchup against Middle Tennessee or Duke. Even though they were good enough last year, they just magically got worse and it’s got nothing to do with the championship caliber coaching staff.

Correct. When you're not that good to begin with (7-5) and some coach comes in demanding work ethic and accountability, you tend to start looking for your next gig. Every adult here has experienced this both in and out of sports.

So you're arguing without actually knowing any facts. Lol.

Again, take your L's, crawl into a hole and change your username for the 10th time.

A good staff takes 7-5 talent and gets two or three more wins out of them. Poor leaders take a position, proceed to fail terribly and then blame their failure on the players they inherited. You don’t have to get worse to get better. That’s a time buying excuse for failing leadership
