As a Tulane fan, I have, um, some experience in discussing these issues.

People who are saying "this is bigger than football how can you expect them to play football at a time like this?" are partially correct. It is hard. But Tulane played an ENTIRE SEASON on the road migrating from school to school in 2005, living in abandoned dorms, while their families were recovering from the storm. The players had their entire city under water. The school was closed for the *entire* semester, and they still found a way to play their entire schedule. Was it tough? Yeah. But most of the players (I think Matt Forte for instance) are glad they did it. Point is, you can't tell me that Miami can't play one road game three days before the storm arrives and tell me that its because some things are bigger than football. Literally everything is bigger than football, it doesn't mean we don't expect football players to play football when it's possible for them to do so. Houston is playing a road game this weekend, I'm sure their players have a lot on their minds too!

I'm not saying he's all the way right, but there is some truth in there if you are willing to take off the shades.

our situation is totally different. they played the season after because there was nothing else to do. this was something that was good for them, their school and their community. this storm hasn't hit yet and people are on edge. they are worried about their families and their safety. nothing is more important than the safety of people and their families.

Why does it have to be one or the other?

Why are people and families still in harms way when a week ago this hurricane was projected to hit SoFla? I've asked this question a bunch of times over the last few days and not a single porster can give a logical explanation.

Once again for like the 10th time. I personally know several families that evacuated safely including a single mother of 3 who lives deep in 305. If she could do it why can't others?

The whole "sit here and be a victim" mentality is mind boggling.

Not trying to create a debate but I would guess it is because of the nature the non-exact science we call meteorology and weather forecasting. If we all evacuated at first sign of the storm we would be evacuating unnecessarily every year. Most people try to wait until the 11th hour hoping things will change and evacuation will not be needed. Im not sure why but I would guess it is a combination of laziness and the distrust of media due to the constant fear mongering.

In fact, I was surprised (and thankful) that so many people heeded the warnings as early as they did for Irma. For whatever reason, people really seemed to take action at the beginning. Usually in south fl. everyone waits as long as possible before they start boarding up an/or taking off.

Them mfs got coach richt ****ed. Richt said you mfs got me fvcked up LOL

Broke, can you please just STFU.

Now you're all over this like a teenage girl, but remember this stupidity.

This is a bad look Arkansas state even wanted to play Friday.... Game should have never been scheduled in the first place tbh, hope Blake learns his lesson. This game could have been played, the storm ain't hitting south Florida(if ) it does until Sunday night or Monday morning . God never makes a mistake so this game wasn't meant to be played I guess

You're so fūcking vapid.

Post less, Broke

Hop off my d*ck you dumb b*tch, Obviously the storm has shifted. Plus I said the storm wouldn't hit until Sunday or Monday. Everyone needs to get out of south Florida at this point, sh*t not looking good. Fvck that game, you look dumb as **** harping on a post days before when the hurricane tracking model was showing that the storm would go east of Florida. Don't mention me again fvck boi... it's arguably the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic and you worried about a post I made days ago? Gtfoh with the dumbsh*t you old fvck

you are the board idiot, always have been, always will be. Now go **** off you ignorant tool.

I understand that safety takes priority and I have no issue with them canceling the game. Having said that, there is just no way we can beat FSU on the road with no practice in over a week, a new qb and how flat we looked in week 1.

They just lost their starting qb, oline is still trash, and have a true freshman 6'5 170(if that) by the way is 20 pounds lighter than nkosi perry going against our front 7. Won't be easy for fsu either. Might be harder for them really

Honestly you need to get punched in the face.

I got $100 if you do it

You guys are making the assumption he is calling out some of OUR fan base, and not the chatter from Ark St fans or others that were critical of the decision.

He certainly could be, but he wasnt specific in whose 'fans'.

I take it as a shot to Neuhasel and Ark St idiots.

NEU-WEASEL on TV flapping his jaws about a situation he knows nothing about. Network should be embarrassed. Is he really so clueless as to think that UM was ducking the Arky pansy cupcake game? LMAO ....

it's called transference. He's reflecting his own values. This is what he has or would have done as a coach.

Oh ****ity **** **** ****. I just read this again. It was posted by OUGWave. That guy is a ******* nutjob. He's been banned from every legit Tulane message board, hence why he's posting on the Sun Belt board, not even the American Athletic Conference board, the conference Tulane plays in. He probably got banned from that board too. Just to put that in context.

Someone on their board just posted this

"Honestly, it wouldn't bother me a bit if Miami took a direct hit and it sat over the U campus for a day or two completely destroying the campus to a point where they have to shut down operations for the remainder of the year. Not wishing this on them...but wouldn't be saddened by it.

I know, I know, that is very harsh...but so is canceling a game that was completely playable."

I truly wish we found a way to play those ******* scum bags. Exhibition in spring, rescheduling other games, anything I don't care. Anything to get a chance to play the high school team. Show their classless behavior, post, and tweets to some of our goons and watch us feast. We would face fvck program back 30 years. Fvck that entire state.

Where is "james Jackson brother" what a piece of ****.

***** I DON'T GIVE A **** WHAT ANYONE SAYS WE IF YOU CAN'T PLAY THEN RESCHEDULE SHOULD'VE JUST PLAYED THE GAME AND MOVED IT UP TO TODAY

Go away. Your ignorance is lost on no one.

DON'T CALL ME OUT AND I WON'T SHOW UP.

Rule #1 of being ignorant, always double down when you're wrong.

"The ibis was selected as the school mascot because of its legendary bravery during hurricanes. According to legend, the ibis is the last sign of wildlife to take shelter before a hurricane hits and the first to reappear once the storm has passed."

How Hurricanes gonna run from a Hurricane?

FIU rescheduled their game from Saturday to Friday and changed locations as well as evacuating 90% of their student athletes from all sports to Birmingham. And still played the game.

What a Mickey Mouse program they are for doing that.
