Restrepo Breakdown

Ok I stopped reading after the first sentence.
Nobody is a "way better" route runner than X.
That's literally his biggest asset and something he did better than anybody in South Florida.
How do you think the kid gets open?
Wouldn’t you say his heart and work ethic are his best assets? Work beats talent when talent doesn’t work right

Just because he played for the team you currently coach and because he’s from south Florida doesn’t mean he’s the best route runner in south Florida stop it. He gets open because he’s aggressive and he does have short area quickness which helps him. I know you’re a good football coach and I respect you a lot but being a little biased to south Florida and Deerfield right now. I never said x isn’t a good player, never said he wasn’t a good route runner, i jut think theirs a big gap between the two but we can disagree as your sample size for x is way different then most who can see
First of all, where are you from?

Secondly, it's not my bias. It's widely known down here. You think I said he's the best route runner cause he played for me? LOL

He gets open because he's aggressive? That makes no sense. Aggression doesn't get you open, route running, savvy and quickness gets you open.
Brashard Smith can't hold X's jock in anything WR related other than speed.

Oh god.
Why is this the narrative with every white WR? LOL

We're literally talking about a nearly 200lb kid with mid-4.5 speed and elite quickness.

HE IS TALENTED!!!
It’s not a narrative he’s a hard worker? You’re just bringing race into it. Also there’s a lot of 200lbs kids who can run 4.5

It’s ok to be biased you coached him, have a relationship with him and care about him it’s ok to be a little biased in your point if view. Lol

I’m from Texas originally. You don’t think he’s an aggressive receiver? It does get you open against a db being more physical then them. You lost me at can’t hold his jock strap that’s a joke. Brashard is a baller I’ll take b smith all day over x

He’s a way better route runner then x. He gets way more separation then x does. He’s been injured a lot and that has hampered him that’s why his numbers aren’t where they should be but if he stays healthy he will have way better numbers. I know you coached x and he’s a ball player but you guys are acting like he’s 1 round talent and he’s not.

Point to the post in this thread where someone stated X was a 1st round talent. You can’t

The bulk of the dialogue stems from you claiming that Ronnie Bell is infinitely better than X.

And so far the only criteria you are hanging your hat on is route running, which out of all the things to compare and contrast is the least quantifiable.

Please give Ronnie our love ❤️

X is by far the best route runner on the team, and it ain't even close. Probably one of the top in the country.
That's how he makes his living. Always has. He abuses DB's.
And @ just under 200lbs he's basically a RB playing slot.
He's also light years more savvy than any skill player we have on the team.

What struck me about that youtube video is the anticipation TVD has, and the timing of his throws. Him and X are best friends/roommates, so they have a lot of chemistry. I think that's one of the reasons X goes off this year.
His best friend/roommate at QB + new offense + no favoritism + a staff that rewards hard work = his year

This whole narrative of X being an average athlete who just works hard and wills himself into making plays need to stop immediately. If he was 2 inches taller and 2 shades darker, nobody would be saying that bullsh!t. The kid is an elite ball player, and has been regarded as one since his Sophomore year in high school.
Amazing kid as well. Great ambassador for the program.

Bell is super nice but best in the country man? Idk. I think he’s better than X right now but X hasn’t really gotten a real shot yet for me to see his full potential, they’re actually similar players thats the funny thing about this debate lol

What exactly does he do that X can't do?
Details.

I just watched his highlights and didn't see him do one single thing that X doesn't already do.
Matter of fact, I saw him get tackled one-on-one in the open field and also get hawked down by a Wisconsin DB.
So it's not like you're talking about some electrifying athlete here.
I mean you said it better than me.

That highlight film aint anything out the ordinary at all.

His best season he had 48rec 758yds & 1TD, where’d you get that he’s one of the best in all of college football?

He’s a pretty good Slot WR, I made the parallel because he had his most productivity in Gattis’s offenses & was Michigans leading WR in Gattis’ first year as OC.

Restrepo can do similar things, especially considering we don’t really have a #1 WR yet & the offense will be more centered around balance & control, Restrepo will be a primary target for TVD because he has the most consistent hands among the WR group.
I like alot of plays they ran for Bell on his high lights and i fully agree with you that if used like that he would be productive.

I also thing Restrepo may have more down the field ability though due to his route running as well..also he is like a lil ball of muscle when running after the catch. I really think they sleeping ont he kid.

I have no dog in this fight, but who the **** is Ronnie Bell?! He had 1 more catch than I did last year!
Got injured first game of season, he was expected to breakout this season as the head guy for them, I think guys look at his 3rd year numbers not realizing that was covid year in big 10 where they only played 6..

He was on good pace during covid year too, thats why expectations were high for him coming into season and he got hurt 1st game.. they played only 6 games that year
