Recruiting meeting...(Video)

ICE Harris, Larry Scott, and Coach Hurley : "Kid is a bit slow. Not explosive. He does well at tackling and seems very well coached. Follows his coaching to the T But the burst isnt there. The elite is not there

Corch Dorito : "He's the perfect safety for us"

LOL... Dammit mane...

I would pay to be in this room when they watched tape of Skai Moore, Juwan Dowels, Isaiah McKenzie, Adrienne Talan, James Burgess, etc.

LOL

"I love the way he plays. He's aggressive, decisive. Makes plays on the ball, if only he was an inch taller or 5 pounds heavier he'd be an offer."

FML

you have the guys that understand Florida HS football in Coley, Brown, Harris, Scott, Beard against a Big 10/Temple guy. Zero adjustment to the new climate and personnel in SFla.

The justification Coach D uses here makes aboustely no sense because he's gone away from it so many times in evaluations of Broward prospects. I feel they pick and choose when to apply certain beliefs to prospects

Hurlie Brown, who won 2 national championships at Miami as a safety, says that guy is not good enough for Miami and that Fat piece of s hit Dorito says otherwise.

GUYS, WE ARE TOAST

All the other coaches said he was an offer so don't just make it about Fat D. Ice (the supposed recruiting savior) said yes,Coley said yes and Coach Scott was making some good points. So if 4 coaches say yes and 1 says no offer they still hash it out. But I get it De Pinga you don't like Coach D and that is what you are trying to point out. I don't think Hurlie is he end all be all of player evaluation that is why it is a team. And the big thing for me at least is Coach Williams was off to the side lol.

it was a 5 to 4 vote, why didn't they show the other 3 coaches who didn't want to offer the guy?

Coley first said he reminded him of an Deon Bush in high school then when dorito gave his awful opinion, Coley changed his mind, therefore he has no idea what to look for in a safety.

This is a horrible example of a management meeting. A bunch of guys talking crap with little direction or leadership. It's hard to blame those who didn't energetically defend their views because I got the feeling it would be pointless to do so. And, where in the **** is the CEO, is he in his office eating picadillo stuffed potatoes?

hurlie is frustrated. u can see how he went to Williams for support. there is the ice, hurlie, scott, beard, florida group, then the penn st/temple group

Also, the whole thing about "the best safeties played safety in high school" is pretty garbage if you ask me. Usually, if a kid is an elite DB in high school, he is asked to cover the other team's best guy.

Hurlie is the only one there who stepped back and seemed to have a template for what a "University of Miami" safety is supposed to look like.

No. he would have been a rush end in a 3-4 2 gap. hahaha thats what they call it.

Paul Williams not even having a seat at the table is Golden's lack of balls to fire a guy that doesn't even get a say when discussing his position group.

they guy is hated in south florida. he badmouths recruits to each other in front of parents. parents arent dumb, they know he is doing that to their kid when he is talking to someone else. he's a moron.

D'Onofrio is a terrible fit for Miami. He doesn't get it. South Florida talent evaluation and coaching is different. To tell you the truth, I can't see the Temple crew winning anywhere with their approach.

Thank god for Hurlie Brown, Ice, and the rest of the So FL coaches who understand.

Hurlie and beard love this program. u can see hurlie get annoyed in the video. GOD JUST GIVE US BUTCH. only the miami administration can't see how the stars have aligned.

He was asking about the BEST safety, not the FASTEST. Ed Reed ran a 4.57 going into the NFL, and he wasn't that fast when he arrived. What D'No is saying is right. He's not saying he doesn't want speed, he's saying it's important to know how to play. I'm personally sick of seeing elite "talent" show up, only to get torched because they used their speed and athleticism to get put of position, because they don't understand where they need to be. In a perfect world you would love to have a safety run a 4.3 and know where he needs to be. Those don't come around very often, do they?
Clarify something for me: was No'D asking Williams who the fastest safety THEY had ever coached, or the fastest safety at Miami ever. If the latter, I'm certain there's been plenty of guys who ran faster than a 4.68. If the former, I'm sure the former Canes like Hurlie and Beard were like "Who gives a f*** who you coached at Temple!"
