Question: Lots of die hard Cane fans attacking the staff

Our fans are pretty awful. They expect every coach to be undefeated and at the first sign
of struggle they want him and his staff gone. I’m sure other fan bases have ridiculously unrealistic fans too, but **** it sure seems we have more than most.

And I can’t speak for other fan bases but we seem to be polluted with a bunch of “fans” who want to be first with their negative takes on this coach or that player so they can brag to a bunch of ppl they don’t know about it at the first inkling that they are proven correct. It’s odd to say the least.

I can’t say it is or isn’t yet. It’s early REALLY early... I’d like to see his first year, player development and first recruiting class. I think Manny has the “it” factor. I’m not sure if his passion can transition from DC to HC. Time will tell. Anyone saying they know for sure, loses credibility in MY opinion instantly. I’ll wait and see. I’ve obviously waited long enough... what’s another season at this point.

what the **** is the “it” factor? u like his personality? he looks cool? he’s a mediocre DC and completely green HC with a staff that belongs at Temple.

guy should never have been hired. a dead program isnt rising with a coach who was lucky to get the Temple gig.

fans are tired of garbage staff after garbage staff. rinse and repeat. it requires coaches like saban, carroll, tressel, meyer, schnellenberger to lift dead programs up. does manny’s resume even touch those guys? **** his resume doesnt even touch randy shannons!

Half the board will say Manny sucks. The other half good. One of them will be right, despite neither opinion being fully informed - at this stage of the season.

Diaz has had 3 games as a head coach, people
Expected him to be moong perfect decisions from
day 1 and the fact that he’s learning g in the job ****es people off.

The first 2 games were not a good start, we lost to an average Florida team and a not so good unc team on the road. I’m hoping we sss Diaz and the team get some positive steam going in this homestand.

Nothing Odd about it...Alot of posters on CIS know what tf their talking about...Alot of "us" knows what True UM FB looks like, as well as knowing good assistants when we see them.
Coaching or lack of has cost us 2 games....spin it how you want. Unpreparedness isn't the word...

Then surely you're aware what it takes to get to 'True UM FB'. It doesn't happen overnight.

I hated the Diaz hire even when he was 0-0.

I’ve always found Shannon to be a more applicable comparison than Golden. Diaz, like Shannon, was a DC under a head coach we were happy to say goodbye too. Nobody else in FBS wanted him as a head coach. (He was Temple’s 3rd choice for the job.) There wasn’t even that much to suggest he was super respected as a DC. (Texas fans hated him, Mississippi State fans were okayish with him and Mullen made no effort to steal him from Miami when he took the UF job.)

The main difference between Shannon and Diaz is that Diaz can appeal to the fan base with his stupid chains and “Rah, rah Canes” talk.

Overnight??....I didn't realize overnight meant 15+ yrs...UM FB should NEVER be irrelevant for 15+ yrs....EVER....All I've ever asked from UMs AD & BOT is "Due Diligence" in hiring procedures and they've failed miseraby time and time again....Lol at Richt fell in our Lap BS...or Manny is a Miami guy crap...

I was suspicious of Golden after the Maryland game, and I basically knew he was a loser after the KSU and Notre Dame games in 2012. After the Louisville bowl loss, I thought he should have been fired. He had no business getting a year 4, let alone (part of) a year 5.

it takes elite coaching.

the sunshine pumpers were saying all last year we just needed an OC and QB coach, and when we hired Shanny said “great the defense will be the same lets roll now”....

Now suddenly Manny needs “time to fix things”. Ya’ll change ur minds like the wind.

I'm glad you're clairvoyant enough to have judged Diaz after 3 games.

You should use those powers for the good of mankind. They're wasted here.

Half the board says he sucks. The other half says let's see what we have and not making final decisions after two games. Unfortunately he ain't going anywhere for a couple years so time will tell. In the meantime might as well enjoy the ride. All I can say is I am still happy I'm not watching that offense from last year that truly made me question my allegiance to this program.

We’re critical because we realize that Diaz is a coRch. Through 3 games, he seems to be on the same level as Al Golden.
In three games you've made that determination? Hope you don't manage people at work. I'd hate to be the guy that printed something out in Landscape mode instead of Portrait mode and gets fired by you for never giving them a chance.

Right, so you're judging the new guy on the weight of the evidence compiled over the last 15 years - of which he had nothing to do with (besides fielding a very good defence for three years).
