QB Stats from Scrimmage #2

Defense wins championships. End of story. Run the ball and play defense. We just need a QB who won't turn the ball over.

offense won the most recent championship

Defensive lines win championships, and Clemson had a great one.

Were you at the scrimmage? Apparently, it was very windy today. Is that correct? If so, do you think it affected the throws at all?

Nothing too crazy. The offense just missed throws and the DBs were outstanding. The stats are also a little deceptive because this wasn't called like a real game with run-pass balance.

this.

people need to take a valium.

shirreffs is getting better every practice, and he has a chance to be a good QB for this team.

if the offense is ever lights out in spring, THAT'S when I'm concerned.

otherwise, heed the words of marcellus wallace

There is quite some distance from lights out to 16-36. I'm not sure anyone who has questioned those numbers has said they were expecting lights out. That narrative has been brought to the table by people trying to defend those numbers. Arguing against something that wasn't even on the table. What is wrong with saying Shirreffs had a bad day? Great defense. Passing scrimmage. All understood. Doesn't mean he didn't have a bad day throwing the football.

He also didn't have to worry about getting hit.

Glad to hear from D$ that there are other factors for some of the stats.

As for Shirreffs getting better every practice, forgive me if I missed something somewhere else, but is that hopefulness or are you seeing practices/know players? I am not trying to be an ***, legitimately wondering where that statement is coming from.

no offense taken .... it's observation from someone i know who has had the chance to observe practices. i'm merely echoing what he's told me.

completely understand what you are saying, and your point is well taken ....

i'm not taking issue with what you noted, i'm merely pushing back against those jumping down the kid's throat for reasons that don't necessarily square up with the facts and circumstances

Completely agree with you. Didn't mean to downvote.

And here we go.

The overreactions are hilarious.

If Shirreffs goes 16-19 180 we'd hear "the D must suck or we're in trouble ".

The D is always way ahead in spring , especially when the entire front 7 is back from a really good D. Now I'll let you guys get back to overreacting.

Shirreffs going 16-36 is awful. What you take from that is another thing. He had a bad day. Maybe thats all it is.

And if he went 16-20 you would say he picked a part the defense. It's spring the defense will always be ahead. They are playing against an elite defense

Yeah I would. But he didn't. He had a bad day. Why that's so difficult for people to say and accept without adding qualifiers is a little weird. If he was 22-36 with a TD he would've had a better day. That is still a win for the defense but it means he was ok vs a potential elite defense. Shirreffs wasn't good today. Thats all. Rosier wasn't good either. He just had a better day and if not for a great play by Young might have had two TDs and no picks.

Guys....just watch the :44 second video on today's scrimmage. Basically says it all. We're screwed.

I'm guessing DerekDohrman doesn't want me to chime in on this thread ... lol

Hyperbole much? Who was jumping down the kid's throat?

We didn't run the ball because of RB depth. So today was a QB tryout and they all failed.

Writing is on the wall - Richt will likely throw N'Kosi into the fire come **** or high water, and let the kid go through his growing pains this year. It's our only viable option.

Wow. Its like you guys just started watching football yesterday.

I mean, this must be sarcasm. I can't imagine watching 44 seconds that tell you everything you need to know about the upcoming 13 to 14 game season.

Tell me you were being sarcastic.

Christ, this thread. Second scrimmage in the spring, and it wasn't even close to being played like a real game. It was pointless for them to even release the stats for this.

Get a ******* grip.
