  • Very interested in: Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State, UCLA, Stanford and Tennessee
  • A couple of factors that are important to him: Says academically and then a school that gives him the option to do what he wants to do in college and helps him succeed after four years of playing football
  • On the importance of an offense featuring the QB: Says like Ohio St. with a laugh...says he's looking to throw the ball as well...he feels like he has the arm strength to throw the ball if a play breaks down or if he has a running back that’s a beast like Carlos Hyde, he can get him the ball a good amount of times per game and he can do what he does
  • On the offensive scheme being a factor: Says he feels like wherever he goes, the coaches will make the offense and put it around him and the athletes they have in their offense
  • Says that Penn State, Ohio State, Miami and Boston College are the four schools currently recruiting him the hardest
  • On the Penn St. staff: Says they're awesome there...says that's an awesome staff, a young staff...he likes (Ricky) Rahne, the quarterback coach...says (James) Franklin is probably the most exciting head coach in the country...says that they want him to come in and compete for the job even though they have Christian Hackenburg there and (Michael) O’Conner
  • On Ohio St.: Says they're pretty high, they're really high...he likes their style...he likes Urban Meyer...says he's a great guy...Says he feels like they’re the school that has been coming at him the hardest for the longest time...he feels like they’ve been waiting on his decision
  • Has already visited Ohio State, Penn State, and Miami on several occasions
  • Is hoping to get in a few other visits to the likes of LSU, Tennessee and Virginia Tech before making what he hopes is a decision around June
  • Looking for a Stanford offer because his mom is high on academics
  • Is also looking to camp or host Michigan and FSU in hopes for an offer

Its crazy how it seems like so many qb prospects are interested in UM, OSU and PSU at the same time and have them rated so highly

I laugh when I hear academics and FSU in the same sentence

I am thinking Wimbush ranking is ( contigent on the Fitzpatrick combo deal)
1) OSU
2) PSU
3) UM

UM is looking a the very realistic possibility we could be 0 for 3 on our top 2015 QB targets.

Torrance Gibson is most likely gone to 1) OSU 2) Aub 2B) UGA

Nick Tiano is just waiting on a Tenn or WV offer. Even if they come late he would take either with UT being the home school literally and WV being his dad's alma mater.

Thank goodness we landed Kaaya and rosier. It is still early enough to find a QB, but having one to build the class around would ideal.

Go Canes

Mediocre results on the field and landing successive top prospects at the position means we are going to have to get awfully lucky at QB this year to land anyone like this.

We need to win and whoever is qb needs to excite WR recruits for 2015 class. Getting some top rated WRs might help with the qb in that class. We need some excitement and no dismal losses. Beating the criminoles would bet huge boost. However, this is not critical qb year for us with two young guns in the bullpen. If none of Williams, Olsen or Brad don't pan out, it will not matter--staff will be gone and we start over again.

Agreed, winning and getting consistent play out of the QB this year will go a long way in getting the recruits, especially QB's, to come.

Agreed. That is why I never understood the "always take a top flight QB in every class" theory. I get taking at least one QB but having Olson and Kaaya already on campus and they are both Freshmen is gonna scare away any QB worth his salt. (And Rosier is not going to go away quietly either.)

Gibson could literally go to OSU or AUB and start his Tr-Fr year. Same with Wimbush and PSU. Once Hackenburg declares for the draft after his Jr year, Wimbush steps right in. We cant sell that dream to anyone at the moment. We would be lucky to get any 4 star QB considering our situation let alone a 5 star.

In an interview with Rivals' Mike Farrell posted earlier today, Wimbush was asked to name four schools that will make his final cut next month. The schools Wimbush mentioned were Penn State, Ohio State, Miami, and Virginia Tech, though it's worth noting that he's trimming his list down to 10 by that time. So take that for what it's worth.

Wimbush says he's already visited Miami three times and plans to visit Miami again in "a couple months" before he makes his decision. He intends to announce his commitment in late June.
