Program is done.

Party’s over. We’ve officially become a middle of the road ACC program. We are UVA/BC/Duke. That’s why we have such epic slap fights with those garbage programs every time we play them; we ARE them.
Yes I've come to that realization as well. Only thing that will have me to take another drink of "hope" is a quick and resolute firing and hiring of a professional and innovative HC/OC and a DC that can both coach and evaluate talent.

I've been saying it on these boards since BEFORE we all migrated over to this site but ****** coaches and AD's are symptoms. The disease is comprised of the people OP referenced.

It's true, it is pretty much hopeless and the incompetence runs deep....but I still refuse to give up hope. I love this program too **** much.

I'm sure I speak for the majority of fans here when I say this: being a Canes fan isn't a choice. It's something innate that's thicker than blood. I can choose not to care about the pro teams I'm a fan of. I can't just turn off my passion for the Canes.
Of course. I don't think any one of us can just turn it off completely.

I can, however, do more productive stuff on a Saturday and still check the score or game cast.

I suggest you all at least try it. It is a great feeling.

program isn't dead, but if they don't fire richt it will be come this time next year

this is talented team, just need someone that knows how to use it and we're fine

Hope is one thing. I won't ever give up hope either. Just like I never give up hope that I strike the lottery or that I land the job as the Miami AD one day.

All it takes is to bring in a competent and passionate AD with autonomy.

It is simple in theory but almost impossible for the incompetent and apathetic decision makers.
No it takes money, To get a top flight established coach like a Brian Brohm or a Matt Campbell itll be about 5 million a year with a large buyout, Throw in top dollars for good coordinators . Nothing is cheap the notion they coach's will come here cheaper because of the this is Miami is a fantasy. Money talks.

Our stellar recruiting class should help us bounce back from this year.

Yeah to be clear I missed the BC game to go to an NBA game and I missed over half of last night's game as well. But I still deeply care about the state of this program.

Addictions can be cured. Suffering is bad for your mental and physical well being.

This a fan based overrated team, Every player we have to have....I see some talent but thee notion that we have top 10 talent is a fantasy again.

Money is a large part of the equation, but it also takes a certain attitude, plain and simple. Texas throws all of the money in the world at their program and they've been equally as garbage. Texas, like us, is run by buffoons.

Leadership comes from the top meaning the university president. Shalala was a complete and total disaster of epic proportions. Frenk well I don’t even know what or whom he represents.

Times have changed is the reality of the situation. They university cares more about who they offend rather than building a champion.

Just hire someone who bleeds orange and green and who has the ********s to tell Rick like it is. Instead they have a Maine transplant with no testosterone. Do I want Rick gone well I think this is inevitable. However if he does get another year he must overhaul the coaching staff from top to bottom.

Listening to guys like Kelvin Harris, Thrill, and Beason last night, man, the former players that built this thing have got to be beside themselves. They give a ton of money to the school and that has to also mean something. I wonder what kind of pressure the administration feels at the prospect of losing their support. Or is it too late. That the guaranteed money from the ACC has this administration accepting mediocrity, excellence doesn’t matter, we get paid anyway.

Money ain't a issue as long as Butch is breathing

I didn't like the Richt hire from the minute it was announced but not even I thought he'd be this bad.

I knew he'd suck major rhinoceros **** as a play caller and game day coach.....but I thought he'd at least recruit well.

Staring at this class full of 3 stars that this dementia ridden ******* has put together really highlights the fact he's just collecting a paycheck. He's way beyond a bad coach, he's a God **** thief.

What? Richt’s first recruiting class was his highest ranked during this tenure. Last years class was not as highly ranked. 2019 class currently ranked 18 and dropping. For 15 years our coaches have been a disaster. For 15 years our quality of elite players have steadily fallen. We use to be the kings of the nfl draft. We would have the most first round players drafted. We would place more Canes in the nfl than oany other college and many became great pros. Check out the fall off of Canes drafted in the recent past and their contribution in the league. It is all about RECRUITING in college football. We are not getting enough elite talent. Period!!!

I am as sick as any of you about the current state of affairs, but to call this program "dead" is hyperbole. We were ranked #2 in the nation at one point just last year. Last year...with the same crappy QB and the same crappy coach. If we get a QB and a coach, this team will once again revert to where it needs to be. We haven't had that in a while, and I know it's easier said than done, but I believe in Jarren Williams as our future QB (and have since Day 1, I was never a N'Kosi slurper). Once we get the coach, this team will once again be very good.
