Fletcher should big brother him.. and by that I mean, grab Pringle by the collar and tell him to get tf back into the Hecht
What’s your theory?Pass blocking is a smoke screen. If DMoney never started that bs it wouldn't pop up.
I hope he does.Nakos says he might come back
Well said broI hope he does.
Rewatched his snaps in the Pitt game this morning and it's a good reminder of how he can be used next year alongside Fletcher. We covered up his pass pro issues, against a high pressure defense, by running a ton of RPOs on early downs, and got him off the field on 3rd downs. He had a great game and so did the offense. I can appreciate his frustrations about how he was used in the playoff a bit more now. It doesn't justify his reaction, but I suspect he thought he was going to be used in a similar manner in the playoff with Fletcher back starting (Pitt was Fletcher's first start back from injury).
It just never worked out that way, and the two awful pass pro reps against OSU were on straight dropbacks, which was a recipe for disaster. We discovered the pistol in the playoff, which Fletcher is great at it. We ran much less gap scheme runs in the playoff too, which Pringle had a ton of success with against NC St. Much less Pony sets. The Malicat got discarded - for good reason - and Pringle was in the backfield for many of those reps against Pitt.
Hopefully we can smooth things over and bring him back.
They felt more confident in the players that received playing time. Fletcher and Brown missed blocking assignments throughout the playoffs. What’s your theory?
I never asked for more Pringle. I think he earned reps, but I'm not mad either way. I just know pass blocking is a terrible excuse to keep a running back from playing running back.Gibbs was the #12 overall pick in the draft so of course they are going to use him or that would of been malpractice. Even then, they gave Monty a ton of work because he is great in Pass Pro as well.
Yes, it would have been nice for Pringle to be sprinkled in the playoffs but let's not act like if he wasn't entering the portal that anyone would be talking about how he should of got more touches. We lost because we made more mistakes than IU. Not because Pringle didn't touch the ball.
I agree it matters. It shouldn’t prohibit someone from playing. It's not that pass blocking doesn't matter. There's just too much drama about how much it matters.
Here's how may QB Sacks + Hits PFF has credited to our RB's:
2020 - 2 Sacks + 1 Hits - 3
2021 - 4 Sacks + 2 Hits - 6
2022 - 2 Sacks + 2 Hits - 4
2023 - 0 Sacks + 1 Hits - 1
2024 - 1 Sacks + 0 Hits - 1
2025 - 3 Sacks + 0 Hits - 3
On average - we throw 450 passes a year & RB's get our QB's hit 3 times a year
People act like RB's are getting their QB's killed all the time. Truth is it rarely happens.
Idk about that. Rewatch the Texas AM game. He got ran over trying to pick up a blitz.Pass blocking is a smoke screen. If DMoney never started that bs it wouldn't pop up.
Was he the only RB to miss a block?Idk about that. Rewatch the Texas AM game. He got ran over trying to pick up a blitz.
I haven't read this thread but saw the screenshot. How many **** him posts were there?
Now that Nakos said he may come back, will those sentiments change?
IDK man if Miami is trying to keep him it must be different from Simpson. I did hear Simpson was ****** on his way out and it does not appear we tried to keep him. Sounds like Pringle got some big *** offer and elected to jump. IDK how I feel about the alleged family post, if that is his mom or dad, then I am on the side of let him go, they will always be in his ear and nothing good will come from it.No.
He can **** off with Simpson and every other scrub that talks **** on the way out.
Go rewatch the Cotton Bowl and you'll see the specific play where he misses the blitz pick up and gets yanked.Pass blocking is a smoke screen. If DMoney never started that bs it wouldn't pop up.

And why did they feel more confident in those players? Maybe because they are much more consistent pass blockers? Wild theory i get itThey felt more confident in the players that received playing time. Fletcher and Brown missed blocking assignments throughout the playoffs.

Aka running blockersI never asked for more Pringle. I think he earned reps, but I'm not mad either way. I just know pass blocking is a terrible excuse to keep a running back from playing running back.
That's not what I meant. We had 54 offensive snaps against IU. Fletcher was in for 40 and Brown 14 (with 3 carries). I was merely saying you should not take snaps away from one of those two because you want to appease another player who is essentially holding out or disgruntled. You would potentially sacrifice a national championship to prove what point exactly?
So now Pringle held out of the playoffs, yet he and his family are mad because he did not get playing time in the playoffs. And the playoffs were the time we became disciplinarians?
Not seeing it.
I never said he can't play or shouldn't have gotten reps. I'm saying that there was a reason they pulled him. He's a freshman being asked to do something most freshman can't do. But he has a skill set that clearly produced and is likely the main reason we made the playoffs. Toney fumbled three times in the playoffs because he took hits and couldn't hold on to the ball. We got lucky but those were mistakes made because of his size against good defenses. They didn't pull him out of the game.
I honestly get the frustration from his side because I was frustrated. And it's a lot of frustration aimed at Dawson. This dude clearly had ways he could contribute, our offense was pretty anemic in the playoffs, and I think I saw two plays schemed up for him.
If you're telling me he can't play because he can't run block then I'm telling you our offensive philosophy is absolutely flawed. If we can't find ways for good skill players to get the ball in their hands then we're in deep trouble.
Dawson has problems as an OC. I think at times he can be very good and creative and other times be limited and stubborn. Not being able to find a way to get the guy who launched you into the playoffs the ball is a flaw, imo. Every Miami fan in the world knew our offense had to change midyear. But it took him a month to figure that out. I don't trust him and he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me.
