Pringle is NOT IN THE portal ANYMORE

"cant pass block" is a football-ism for not very smart.
LMAO I can give you plenty of examples as to why rookie RB's in the NFL do not get a ton of reps their first year & you know why? Pass Pro. Before you say "This is not the NFL it's College Football", that is correct but a playoff run against aTm, OSU, Ole Miss and IU has a plethora of players going to the league and one missed assignment could be disaster. I agree with the sentiment that it would of been nice to see Pringle get more work after the Pitt game and I understand why he would feel slighted. The bottom line is this. Whoever makes the decision in the RB rotation trusted Fletcher & Marty over a true freshman with limited snaps under his belt. In games where everything was close and margins for error are as thin as can be they trusted those guys more and did not want to risk anything with Pringle.

Brother the next rusher Jahmyr Gibbs picks up will be his first. If they can have vision and ball security, then willingness to block is all that is needed. Anything else is a mirage. I also don't have a problem with Fletcher taking his reps. Some of those Marty runs on the other hand Pringle could have slipped in the backfield.

Gibbs was the #12 overall pick in the draft so of course they are going to use him or that would of been malpractice. Even then, they gave Monty a ton of work because he is great in Pass Pro as well.

Yes, it would have been nice for Pringle to be sprinkled in the playoffs but let's not act like if he wasn't entering the portal that anyone would be talking about how he should of got more touches. We lost because we made more mistakes than IU. Not because Pringle didn't touch the ball.

Pass blocking is a smoke screen. If DMoney never started that bs it wouldn't pop up.
It's not that pass blocking doesn't matter. There's just too much drama about how much it matters.

Here's how may QB Sacks + Hits PFF has credited to our RB's:

2020 - 2 Sacks + 1 Hits - 3
2021 - 4 Sacks + 2 Hits - 6
2022 - 2 Sacks + 2 Hits - 4
2023 - 0 Sacks + 1 Hits - 1
2024 - 1 Sacks + 0 Hits - 1
2025 - 3 Sacks + 0 Hits - 3

On average - we throw 450 passes a year & RB's get our QB's hit 3 times a year

People act like RB's are getting their QB's killed all the time. Truth is it rarely happens.

Wish him well...but not being able to pass pro is a big part of the rb's responsibilities in this offense.

Now that he pulled this crap at last minute, he’s shown us his a…bring him back at a pay cut and tell him - when you master blocking and show us your dependable, you will get a raise. If he doesn’t except, may the good lord be with you and your advisers.
