I'm torn here. We have a top 5 back committed, and I believe OL/DL is what separates great teams from good ones. Teams making the BCS Championship are most likely loaded on both lines with studs. We can find backs to plug in seeing as we're located in south Florida.

On the other hand, this kid was all UM for 5 **** years. Right under our nose. And we always say Miami is always a couple classes away from being "back" at any time due to the ridiculous amount of talent within a tank of gas from their campus. But it's irrelevant if that talent is fleeing to other states in droves.

I can't see any valid reason for him to verbal to UGA this early in the process.

I'd be highly skeptical, if he picks UGA, that we wind up getting either.

Not worried about recruiting under Golden, though.

Sony was 6 or 7 years old last time canes were worth a ****. Y'all are living off our past tradition and history, he is not.

IMO Sony, cant be faulted for making a sound decision to go to a UGA team that was in SEC champ game last year, also has
a history of producing great backs, plays in front of 80 k every home game and in SEC.
Unfortunately in Realville, we havent produced a 1st rounder in don't know how long, gets 30 k
for home games in a BS stadium 45 minutes to an hour from Coral Gables. Not to mention the facilities which while
improved are still **** compared to uga and every other SeC school.

You should have stopped typing after your first sentence. That is all that matters WINNING. 1 out 100 recruits gives a **** about facilities that's just a plus. And for all of the supposed great UGA RBs getting drafted... please name them? Because the only guy I can think of K. Moreno. Richt has a history of recruiting top RBs and getting them to be productive college players. But the only SEC teams putting RBs in the league are Bama and LSU.

I don't know what to think (recruiting results, the reason, the money, ultimately losing out) but I don't I like it. For whatever reason we're not sealing the deal at an acceptable rate with the elite kids within 50-mile radius from campus.

For a staff known for their recruiting prowess more so than teaching abilities color me concerned.

When you can supplement those losses with getting elite out of staters like AQM, Olsen, Elder, Griffin and Sandland I'm not as concerned.

So what you're saying is that my "rhetoric" doesn't make sense based on your 100% unsupported speculation that Sony is being paid? That's an impressive argument. I wonder if you would have made it when Coker and Shannon were coaches and missed on bigtime local kids.

I know Golden is putting in all the work possible here, and I do think it's possible we'll flip him back, but without question -- unless we see pictures of Sony and Cook bathing in booster money -- this should be considered another big local recruiting fail.

Sony is a pretty professional dude. Not sure he he renegs on this committment. This is a massive, massive fail on our end. I know we've tried our hardest, but results matter.

If he picks UGA and sticks with UGA, then it's not a fail on our end; it's a fail of the system. There is no possible way we lost that dude, who supposedly grew up loving UM, has a HC who starred at UM, and is local, to some school that is not a major power and does not recruit this area without some shenanigans.

You dudes crack me up with this "results matter" rhetoric. If the playing field is even, then, yes, it's a "results matter" type of deal. When it's not, then it's not. Tie a couple cinder blocks to Michael Phelps's legs and see if he can win a 400m freestyle.

cook is likely headed to miami. from stuff i've heard, uf's staff isn't confident he sticks and are still pursuing other backs.

while that will suck obviously, it's going to be funny as **** seeig how those people claiming they know cook is shopping himself rationalize his commitment to miami. i'm certain those rumors of money exchanging hands will go away.

I would celebrate if that happens. idgaf how we get em. just get em. I really dont think we're gonna get cook though

I love the lunacy of recruiting.

Where a high school kid is better than the all american already on your roster.

Chill pills will needed to be prescribed to all

\unless we get Sony, then we gonna pop mollies

I think most of our fans only care about the future. That is why they love recruiting and not the actual product (the season).

I think once we started to have less and less success (Coker -> RS -> Golden) the fan base (fair weathered) began to care less about the season and more about the future.

The fans are impatient and unrealistic sometimes, they THINK they know more and understand better (without any information) then the staff.

Here we are today where losing a HS Senior, WHO CAN'T PLAY FOR US TILL 2014, is the end all to life. Keep in mind Sony or Player X can't sign for another 9 months (unless EE).

We have a bird in the hand (YEARBY), we will not stop recruiting Sony or Cook. So keep calm and have a xanax.

Its a cycle. We see the trash put out on the field and start looking for guys to come in and actually perform. When those guys don't do it, its on the next group of kids. We need more guys like Duke to come in and live up to the hype and then you will less rabid craziness from the fanbase involving recruiting.

He just decided to play Clemson and UF for some cash and stay home to play for his dream school

Win ten games and you will get the kids that want to go out of state or the fence riders. Its as simple as that.

Somewhere in this planet, there is a man and woman who have never met. They will soon cross paths, become attracted to each other and have ***. The woman will get pregnant and carry this child as it grows from the size of a poppyseed. After nine months, the woman's water will break, and a new life will come into this world with arms, legs and a head.

All of this will happen before Sony Michel or Dalvin Cook sign their letters of intent.

It's April 26, 2013. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Only way to enjoy a ride is if you think you make it out alive. Not sure that is the case here.

Agree. WAY too early to be freaking out over this sh*t. **** Sony could end up getting fat and have a horrible season. Dude could blow his knee out again. Other backs could physically develop and really have break out seasons next year and make everyone forget about Sony Michael or Dalvin Cook. LOT of wind needs to blow before the next NLOID.

By tonight, Sony Michel and Dalvin Cook will be committed to SEC schools.

One of them will wind up at Miami.

And this is EXACTLY why we need to stay positive today after he announces, and don't do anything to drive either of them further away from UM.

Do no harm.

Exactly. Dafetus Jones is on his way to save us.

Why the urgency to announce today if its not the local team? All he is doing is putting more pressure on himself.

When Georgia shyts the bed this year as usual and Richts *** is on the hotseat again while Miami is blowing up we'll see how sold Sony is...

That's "IF" he even chooses Georgia today.

They were one play away from playing for the NT and beating ND as bad as Bama did. You guys are relying on some dumb stuff.
