Practise #6

...nuggets from the article...

"Nesta Silvera was once again a standout due to his competitiveness and will to dominate (and to let everybody know he dominated). It was Corey Gaynor who felt the wrath of Silvera this morning with a little extra holding and tugging on one another after a rep today.

After the drill was over and as the media was being escorted out of the facility, the sophomore defensive tackle had some thoughts that he cheerfully shared out loud. They were something along the lines of, “nobody can block me” to put it elegantly."

ANYBODY complaining about Nesta's aggression is a ******* moron. We've had nothing but limp ****, underachieving, soft, meager DTs the past 10+ years other than Willis, Norton and McIntosh. Nesta is only a Sophomore DT. I'll say it again -- He's only a Sophomore. He'll continue to develop his body and his technique. I think we'll see a massive jump in productivity this coming year, but next year is when he will shine.

If I'm Stroud, I push Nesta - hard. If he's bringing that level of intensity and passion, then feed his ***. See how badly he wants to be great or if it's just puff and smoke.

For us to make up Willis' productivity, we will need all our DTs to step up next season, and Nesta's improvement is essential. Nnoruka, Bethel, Nesta and Ford. They will determine our Defense's success next season.

"Suspect" is a strong word. You only need 4 WRs in your rotation anyway and the rest can sit they a$$ on the bench and watch if they don't want to catch the ball.

Enos is use to a short rotation anyway coming from Bama. Those 8 WR in game rotations we had under Richt wont fly with him.

I wonder if the 9 man OL rotation will fly..

He caught exactly 10, and I've said 20 times on here how ridiculous that was. He and Homer should have played together WAY more than they did, especially once Cam started getting burn in November.

Deejay is such a mismatch and runs excellent routes with excellent hands. He should be targeted 4-5 times a game on safe, short to intermediate throws.

Yep if we get 40 balls caught by our rbs I will be extremely happy.
Would get tired of screaming to check it down to our rbs last year when no one was within 10yds of them!!

The only time the I-Formation is consistently effective in today's college football is when u have the OL of a Bama or Clemson or u have the big guys from up north that schools like Wisconsin get. I mean, yeah, we could wait to see how they develop but I doubt they get to that level this year. A true spread would be way more effective bc u don't need those AA OL to be as impactful in your scheme.
I think most of us can agree that the I-Formation as the primary formation would not be wise from the get go. Just that there are certain instances and situations we can use it for. We are going to give the defense many looks and many things to think about.
If you look at what was done at Arkansas there were plenty of times the ball was quickly snapped and passed out (of the I-formation) to the perimeter where the WRs would be bunched up and get decent gains on first down. I can see that being effective with our personnel and our skill players too.
Those types of plays set up fakes and delays that can go to the other side of the field.
Yes running I-Formation would not be wise on every down but as a variant can be very successful. Especially in our Conference with the defenses we play.

And reality sets in...

These QBs have a lot of work to do. To transition from Richt's offense to Enos' is not going to be easy. And that goes for the offense as a whole. Not counting on any overnight success
To be honest I’m not expecting Enos to start coming out and showering the QBs with praise two weeks into spring practice regardless. I’m not saying they aren’t having struggles because I’m sure they are , but this is a race . Keep the competition up . Don’t let any one QB think they have the leg up on the other . Let them go into summer scared , still fighting for the job , can’t let anyone get comfortable .

Should be more than that. Double that number and that'd be my goal if I'm Enos.

He's such a mismatch if you use him correctly. And with Lingard and Cam in the mix, he should be used correctly.

run jordan, mallory, dallas, and either lingard or cam onto the field, make the defense go heavy on linebackers. line up under center with the the backs in wishbone -> back out into shotgun, flex the tight ends, and abuse the mismatches or make them call timeout. rinse, repeat.

Have a friend covering the team for his masters program. Told me Tate is having a bad day when throwing with zip. Throwing with air he’s been fine but Perry and Jarren easily better today.
Tate seems to struggle throwing all together. Osu fans said he had a lot of work to do as a passer but was a great athlete. They may have been right.

This QB competition isn't going to come down to whoever has the strongest arm, the most accurate, or even who can scramble the best. As far as talent level, all 3 are pretty even. Whoever wins the job it will be bc they learned the playbook the best, can command the huddle, and move the football through the air and/or on the ground.

My lord; I’ve been begging for the wheel route for two seasons now. I think we ran it a total of 2x in the last 3 seasons. It’s a LB’s worst enemy b/c u don’t know if the RB is stopping or going and LBs, no matter how fast they r, are not used to covering a receiver for a long period. Open up the mysterious playbook, Young Enos. You have the glow!
Well yea in man if you get that cross matchup a wheel is killer. That route also depends on feild positioning. When you get past the 50, a d into 35 going in your more likely to get 0 coverage situations..

He'l be in the NFL within the next couple months, fvck are you talking about?

Are u a homer fan? He’s going to be looking for a job after training camps. He’s not getting drafted.
Wake up!
KC McDermott is way better and what happens to him? Again wake up and learn football

Accuracy most definitely will be included. It doesn't matter if you know the plays if you can't execute them.
