Why can't Mullen do it? He has resources and ingredients to do so.
I hope he fails miserably, but HOPE is an often ineffective way at evaluating reality.
Can Lashlee and Justice stem Miami's bleeding?
Part of me wants yes (don't ever want to see Canes lose), part of me wants no (likely leads to Manuela's firing in 2020).
It truly is tough call for Miami's long term success.
ANYONE who supports Manuela is essentially advocating for Vanderbilt/Wake Forest like programs. Not good or bad, just is.
But don't kid yourself.
I'm astonished that an intelligent person could hold this view while simultaneously analyzing all of the factors:
-Manny turned around a TERRIBLE Miami D into a very good one, and sustained it.
-The offense was a DISASTER for three years straight.
-We know the culture is a mess.
-We know the QB room is a mess, and we're coming off our least qualified QB coach ever.
-We were extremely young on offense.
-We had one of the thinnest OL rooms in our history.
It was one year. I'd love to know how you expect any first year coach to overcome all of that. I'm not saying Manny IS the answer. But any conclusion that he's NOT with those contributing factors is myopic at best.
