Sorry to **** on everyone’s parade, but did anyone else read between the lines in regards to the WR comments? If we’re relying on Toney to be WR1 or 2, we pretty much struck out in the portal at that position. I didn’t have much hope for Marion (he’s an elite special teams player but a rigid route runner and it doesn’t seem like the light will go on here), and Johnson is a depth addition. Kind of knew that already, so no change there.
But… If Daniels isn’t being talked about like he should he putting up close to 1k receiving yards, I’d be concerned about the unit. Relying on TF…especially one that’s supposed to still be at American Heritage… that’s a bold strategy cotton.
I do think the defense will be a top 40 unit in America, so the expectations should be playoffs or bust. The pass rush should be improved, but I am still worried about defending the run on the interior.
I don't think we NEED a 1k yard guy. We've only had like 3 in last decade. Id expect this year to have a bunch more guys with like 300-400 yards than we usually have so we will have more productive guys than normal. The top guy might have around 800, but we might have like 5 or 6 guys over 400 type... I'd also expect to run the ball more. Last year I think the pass call rate was 65%. I think that drops around 5%. And that's call rate.
Like would it be surprising if like JoJo and Daniels had around 600-750, Toney had around 600, Marrion and Lofton have 400, Moore has around 300+, and then like Tony Johnson, Ray Ray, Upshaw, Chance, and Bauman are all above 200? ...
