Good topic

I will preface that my rankings are based on a combination of on field performance (60%) and recruiting (40%):

Dugans
Thomas Brown
Hartley
Rumph
Banda
Manny D
Lil Richt
Jess Simpson- could def move up a few spots depending on how things go between now and March 2019 with recruiting
Searles
Patke

1 - Dugans
2 - Hartley
3 - Brown
Rumph - wild card

but we'll know better after next year or so .. some of them got players they did not recruit, some of them have recruit better then other.

curious case is Rumph ... famous around here for missing on Wilson, TC and PS2, but he could easily coach and develop more first rounders then any other coach. He is the wild card and can easily end up being the best of them all.

1.Dugans- Dude kills it crooting wise, has them playing soundly making plays and ready to make a play having a kid like langham ready to go even if he isnt a go too is good on top of the blocking they do

2. Diaz- He can have some brain farts (soft coverages, 3rd down casino blitzes yada yada) but he is a great D coord for miami athletes and seems to get who he wants at LB

3. Brown- Dude has been killing it getting his guys and coaching them up and ready to go... last year losing walton and not missing a beat having not only homer ready but the true frosh DJ ready to go and make some plays... crooting has been very good closing with linGAW, and cam... makes me forget he ever got left at the alter by that aunt jemamiah look alike to maryland....

4.Hartley- Dude is our best crooter hands down and gets his man/men, coaching wise seems like he does a good job with the TEs... STs worries me under him with coverage and punting with feagles looking bad... this season will show me more with a true frosh at kicker with bubba

5 Searles(sp)- Seems like a very good crooter who seems to get guys we should get here and well see if he can get the real blue chippers like evan, wright, that LA G etc... he came into a bad position compared to most other coaches as kehoe was a terrible teacher and crooter he seems to really have improved overall talent and teaching..

6. Banda- He seems like a great crooter and kids like him as a person has gotten some studs.... his coaching seems to be pretty decent as he was just a bartender a few years ago and to me this seemed like a terrible hire at the time but he seems to get his position ready with making someone like redwine slide in and make plays while helping JJ to continue to excel in his development

7. Rumph- Crooting is very suspect as I feel like he cant land anyone on his own and losing kids from his former high school is embarrassing bags or not.... Coaching seems decent at best the kids seem to play pretty well... made mike jackson a potential 1st rder even though I thought he was be a transfer candidate just a couple of years ago

8- Richt jr- Richt Jr early evals scare me as we either realize how bad the kid is or we get spurned... throw in that we haven't seen any development out of QB room still having to rely on rosier mostly because he is athletic and been around enough to be the starter is terrible... he was saved getting J.Williams last year otherwise he should be on the hot seat right now

9/10. Patke and Simpson- not enough to even evaluate right now with them being new to the staff... Simpson being most important because hes replacing a great teacher of the game but left the depth chart hurt due to terrible crooting efforts... patke I hope can turn himself into an ACE crooter for the defense because when it came out we could add a new full time coach to the staff I hoped it would be an individual who could absolutely kill it like hartley to help the defensive staff who seem to struggle relative to the offensive side getting the big fish to sign

This.. is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Idk where to start. Do want to point out that Searles is the only one responsible for 5 full time starters. Any one of them could fck up or ball out and make him look like a genius or kehoe.

Ron Dugans- Top WR coach in the country
Thomas Brown- Elite Recruiter/Technician
Todd Hartley- Top Recruiter/Solid TE coach
Diaz- Good DC, Great LB coach, Good Recruiter
Mike Rumph- Underrated coach
Jess Simpson- Sleeper of the group
Stacey Searels- Good Recruiter
Ephriam Banda
Jon Richt
Jonathan Patke

I already see easy votes. Richt Jr close to the bottom even though we’re 100% on our top QB targets and most would agree Rosier outplayed his expectations. We’ll see the development this year though because it’ll be the first time we’ve had the same starting QB two years in a row

Recruiting
Ron Dugans TIE FOR 1st
Todd Hartley TIE FOR 1st
Thomas Brown
Stacey Searels (Rest of Oline recruiting is awesome, needs some true OT's though)
Ephriam Banda
Jess Simpson
Mike Rumph
Jon Richt ( Next year will be important for him, i not on the 2019 no QB panic bandwagon)
Manny Diaz (I really don't hear much about personal interaction with Diaz, obviously kids love his D, i just think the assistants fill his recruiting role)
Jonathan Patke (idk enough about him)

Coaching
Mike Rumph
Ron Dugans
Thomas Brown
Manny Diaz
Todd Hartley
Ephriam Banda
Stacey Searels
Jess Simpson
Jon Richt (again, 1 year with Kaaya in an offense that didn't fit him and 1 year with a baseball player, hard resume to judge at this point)
Jonathan Patke

Hard to rank Simpson and especially Patke being new. Also hard to rate Jon Richt because i don't know how much to blame Rosier. Telling year for him.

Dugans and Hartley 1 and 1a. Rumph isn't the best recruiter out there but he can coach. Simpson gets an incomplete. Banda is good. Brown can coach up his players and can recruit . Searles is average to above average, not a liability. So far Richt jr is a fail. Patke incomplete.

Diaz needs to improve but he's the best we've had in a long time just because he is letting us attack the ball. I like Manny but he needs to tighten up some things.

1.) Dugans
2.) Diaz
3.) Brown
4.) Hartley(although he’s suspect as a SPT coach)
5.) Rumph
6.) Banda
7.) Searles
8.) Richt
9.) Simpson(not much to go off of)
10.) Patke

It's amazing how important the OL coach is. He's essentially responsible for half of your offensive players

However, this thread makes me feel good about our staff. Searels is the only guy I’m not sold on
Patke is new, so he has to be bottom. I think--not to be confused with know--that little Richt still gets a ton of help from Pa when it comes to QB evaluation and development, but you raise a valid point. I can think of nothing to say negative about him to this point.

I'm also not sold on Searels, but I will say, O-Line takes the longest to develop. Now that it's year three, though, we should expect results. He either needs to show improvement or catch the next thing smoking north.

Other than those three, though, It's really difficult to put them in order. Banda and Hartley are excellent recruiters who buy in fully to what we are trying to do. Rumph, Dugans, and Brown are all veteran tacticians who know what it takes and know how to maximize the potential.

Simpson is a wild card, but his early returns look scary good.

Manny is the lynch pin. Love his style or hate it, he runs the show on defense, and nobody else on this list looks good if his system fails--especially the defensive guys, but a porous defense also negatively effects the offense.

Don't look at the thread if it offends
Does anyone else see this exercise as utterly absurd? Who, certainly not me, is in a position to make an informed judgement here?
