Piecing together Richt's staff (with updates)

Richt had a 4.8 mil budget at Georgia.

He would not have taken the job here if it was going to be less.

You don't know that. He is already going back to calling plays, so he isn't going to hire a OC who wants to build his resume as a play caller.

Foil back to stating his wild speculation as facts.

We're still waiting for Chud to be named head coach, you ****ing nutcase.

He is god awful. I remember he said we would have a worse record because of all the talent that we lost. Haven't heard him revise that statement yet. Maybe Brown, Harris and Scott are out recruiting with Richt because they are under contract. They are doing their ******* jobs.

Its safe to say the only coaches I see being retained at the moment are Larry Scott and Hurlie Brown

Just because guys still on the staff are out recruiting with Richt doesn't mean they are being retained. He needs their help to assess and recruit players this late in the process. And if these want their next job to be decent, they will act in a professional manner and assist Richt in the transition whether they are being retained or not. Just because he might not want to keep a guy on his staff doesn't mean he wouldn't recommend that coach for somebodies else's staff. And I'd think a recommendation from Richt would be a feather in the cap of any departing coach so it behooves them to remain diligent and true to Richt's goals.

This. The current coaches still work for the school and until Richt names the staff that he wants hes going to need help recruiting. They have no choice but to help, its an unspoken rule amongst coaches. Not saying some of those guys wont be retained, but i dont think them recruiting means theyre on the staff.

All the coaches on the recruiting trail should be there if they are a players contact. They are being paid by the University of Miami to do a job. I would read nothing more into this then coaches doing the job they are paid to do.

I'm going to keep this thread near the top of page 1 if I can and update it to reflect various opinions/ideas until they become permanent. For now, I'm gonna treat it like an Al Golden Depth Chart release =P

Head Coach/QB Coach/Playcaller - Mark Richt

Offensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator - Brian McClendon OR Larry Scott

Running Backs Coach - Ice Harris OR Brian McClendon

Wide Receivers Coach - Kevin Beard OR Brian McClendon

Tight Ends Coach/Special Teams Coordinator - John Lilly

Offensive Line Coach - Art Kehoe OR Larry Scott

Defensive Coordinator - ???

Defensive Line Coach - Tracy Rocker

Linebackers Coach - Hurlie Brown

Defensive Backs Coach - Willie Martinez

So this is more speculation. We definitely need a DC with an entirely new and better staff. Same with OC except I'd like to see them keep Scott as TE coach

This is my updated projected staff...

Budget is 5 mil....

HC Mark Richt
TE/Asst HC/Recruiting Coordinator John Lilly (500k)
QB/OC Ken Dorsey (1 mil)
OL Art Kehoe (300k)
WR Kevin Beard (300k)
RB Bryan McClendon (500k)

DC Todd Grantham or Brian VanGorder(1.3 mil)
DL Kevin Patrick (300k)
LB Mike Barrow (400k)
DB Willie Martinez (400k)

Dorsey aint worth a million... 450 -600 maybe??

Barrow aint coming back

Newberg said barrow may return. Said barrow always wanted to work with mark richt. Just because he is in the nfl doesn't mean he wants to move up the nfl ranks.

he has a great position in Seattle,... I was hearing rumors he was headed for DC at Stanford, anderson might be moving on

Dan Morgan has gained a lot of power in Seattle as well. Barrow could be set for a while- relative to NFL careers at least.

Ken Dorsey is not coming here if he can't call the plays. He would be stupid to do that.

Love Kehoe, but it is time for him to retire. I believe we can upgrade this position.

Yup. Total speculation as I said in the OP. But hopefully, it's speculation based on at least some information, and I hope to keep updating it as more comes out. I don't think Scott stays at TE coach if Lilly is hired, but I do hope they find a place on staff for him.
