Piecing together Richt's staff (with updates)

Georgia people seem to think McClendon is coming to Miami.

Guys is a beast recruiter.

Landed Sony and Chubb in 2014.

I'm getting a very uneasy feeling that many of the staph are going to be retained. Needless to say, that would suck.

I have not see anywhere that he asked for a $5M staff. I would be shocked if it got close to that number - heck, Michigan's staff was in the $4m's this past year. If you're hiring the Lice Harris and Art Kehoe's of the world, those salaries will be closer to 3.5/4, imo.
 
New Hurricane coach Mark Richt's first in-home visit?
The beneficiary was LB Zach McCloud - a former UM commitment - and his family.
Richt, Hurlie Brown and Larry Scott were on hand for the one-and-a-half-hour meeting.


Looks like Scott and Brown are staying.
 
Richt had a 4.8 mil budget at Georgia.

He would not have taken the job here if it was going to be less.

If we were going to keep the guys already on this staff he would have announced it already. I think we are going to get big boy coaches not just Golden retreads.
 
Ice and Hurlie will go back to an admin roles.

They are not competent college coaches.

I think Mark is going with them to see how they operate.... I hope both are shown the road but thats just me

Just because guys still on the staff are out recruiting with Richt doesn't mean they are being retained. He needs their help to assess and recruit players this late in the process. And if these want their next job to be decent, they will act in a professional manner and assist Richt in the transition whether they are being retained or not. Just because he might not want to keep a guy on his staff doesn't mean he wouldn't recommend that coach for somebodies else's staff. And I'd think a recommendation from Richt would be a feather in the cap of any departing coach so it behooves them to remain diligent and true to Richt's goals.

I agree. I was just poating what I saw. I too think he is using their help and evaluating them in the same time.

Just because guys are out helping recruiting, it means nothing. Maybe it means he already told them they will be retained or maybe it means they are doing whatever they can to be retained and impress richt or maybe they are hoping if richt doesn't keep them that he will give them a good recommendation.

100% incorrect. We need coaches that can coach and recruit, irregardless of age.
