Over/under UAB

Never thought I'd see the day where Canes fans would be chewing their fingernails over playing a Conference USA team. I am embarrassed to be rooting for the same team as these soft shouldered nancies.
idiots like you are why pe
We need Lombardi to beat UAB? A middle of the road CUSA team?

Some of you guys have lost all perspective.
We need competence.......something Manny seems lacking until proven otherwise. Btw, we've been UAB for a while now.

Pathetic. Yes we sucked last year. Everyone knows that. Let it go though. Jesucristo, these guys are scary about everything. What fun is it being a UM fan expecting to be in a dog fight with an average CUSA team? Yikes.

What did you see last year from this team and staff that makes you believe that we can blow out anyone on our schedule? I understand it's a new offense, but frankly that's part of the issue. There are bound to be mistakes from this offense for the first couple of games. I think we win, but I expect a 28-17 type game.
Last year. Stopped there. This isn't last year.

That was last year. I'm not going to recap all the changes between last season and this season. Absolutely zero reason to assume that this year will go the same as last year unless you are a big ol' pu$$y.
Right and we all knew Enos was going to be the crap he showed. Again fans like u come off like we’re all mighty after the worst season in the programs history. Some of our fans are so delusional. But you do you boss. No need insult. Calm down.

UM has to be "almighty" to expect to beat a middle of the pack CUSA team? Sad.

One day I'm going to die. I don't wake up every morning predicting that will be the day just so I can say I told you so.

There was some dude on this site last year pimping the idea Miami should drop out of a P5 conference, and join some 2nd/3rd tier conference like the CUSA. He actually started a thread on it.

That would be a really bad idea reading through this particular thread. We would have a bunch of simpering mealymouthed posters scared of their own shadow every week playing that super scary 2nd tier talent.

If we only Win by 11...then nothing much was accomplished during the Off Season...
You seem to be forgetting we lost to FIU and didn’t score against LaTech. I’ll take any win at this point. It would be great to see a blowout but that’s wishful thinking.

I'm not buying that....Our Offensive system is Light yrs better...and our Defense is just as good...If we can't win this game by 21+ points...then there still is a problem...

I don't think people are saying we are going to lose, or be in a nailbiter late in the 4th, but I also don't see us blowing them out from the start.

UAB has the 4th best defense Miami will see behind Clemson, UVA, and Pittsburgh this season. We are breaking in a new offense, that didn't have spring football with an OL that was not good last year.

I think it could take a little while to get some rhythm offensively against a stout defense.

What fun is it being a fan that expects a dog fight with UAB? Not very, that's for **** sure. What fun is it actually losing to teams like FIU and LaTech? A **** of a lot less fun.

Back when we played ApSt, I expected us to walk in there and spank them. From a talent standpoint, UAB should be a sacrificial lamb. Manny, however, has yet to prove he can beat a bye week. Here's hoping he gets it right and starts getting his teams ready when he has time to prepare. The biggest sign your coach is a corch is losing EVERY game you have extra time to prepare for. He has to fix that, starting with UAB. A good coach gets his team ready, and let's face it, Manny simply was terrible last year. I think Lashlee and King will make us better, but what happens when a team punches us in the face? Will we fold like we did when FIU laid down on the turf and faked injuries?

UAB won't tell us everything we need to know, but it will tell us a lot. I'm not predicting a close game, loss, or a blowout. Truth is, no one knows. Like Lance said, great teams dominate consistently, and one game does not a pattern make. However, it would be a nice place to start.

Bobby Bowden once said there are four stages. Lose big. Lose small. Win small. Win big. Last year we were somewhere between lose small and win small. Can we make the jump to winning big, or even a mix between winning small and winning big? We can no longer see the close calls to teams like UAB, CMU(my personal biggest indicator of ineptitude early on), FIU and LaTech. Good teams don't play down to teams like this. Good teams beat them comfortably. Great teams take their starters out at the half.

So, what jump do we make? Anything that resembles last year will be a huge disappointment. There is so much room to improve, the bar set so low, that if we don't see a massive improvement, there should be a sense of disappointment among the fans.

Uh oh! I take it all back. There's mighty La Tech! OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! UAB's predicted to be better than La Tech?
