OT: "unsurvivable" storm surge projected to hit Lake Charles, La.

Sorry for bumming everyone out with facts. Magical incantations aren't going to help against 150mph winds and 30 mile surges.
And your arrogance and “look at me” need to comment on something that was completely unnecessary to comment on isn’t going to get you far in life. The sooner you learn to keep your mouth shut, the sooner you’ll start finding success in life.

Magical thinking about “climate change” isn't going to help them either.

But you do you, my virtue signaling friend.
I'll take every scientist who studies the atmosphere over whatever you read on Breitbart. Also nothing I said is virtue signaling, that doesn't even make sense.

What's arrogant about pointing out that hurricanes kill up to 10,000 people each year? It's arrogant to assume you can somehow pray away the needless deaths of people who need to be educated about dangerous natural phenomena.

lol, and with that I'm out, I have better things to do than argue about why Jesus himself won't just dissolve the hurricane so people don't die.

Even us Reform ****** people who don’t follow the New Testament, think you’re being an Atheist *******. IDGAF if you don’t believe in God but why do you have to rain on their parade? It’s the thought the counts. Who cares if they call it a prayer, a well wish, a call out to Jesus, Adonai, Yahweh, a higher power in the universe.... whatever.

Do you realize that there are 20 million people in the path of this thing and you’re condescendingly excoriating people for saying prayers up? Wtf is wrong with you?

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I really hate this whole "prayers for the people in the path of the hurricane" rhetoric. People are going to die and your prayers aren't going to do anything to help them.

We know what causes hurricanes and we know they're going to keep getting worse every year as we keep ignoring climate change. But people keep shrugging and praying that it won't be the case.
I can see you saw the movie "The Day After Tomorrow". Hollywood is not the place someone should be getting their science.

I'm not into prayer myself, but there's no reason to belittle someone who does pray for whatever. I see it as more of a hope, hope for the best that people heeded the warnings and if they didn't, somehow they make it through.

One thing I will say is that a lot of those people who pray for the best, will be sending help when the storm has passed. We see and hear about it every time disasters happen.

I should add that I totally agree that climate change is real. My post isn't an attack on science, I believe in it more than God myself. I just don't hate on those who do believe (wish I had that moment where I too believed in fact) and are largely good people if still imperfect.

@AlphaMarshan , you’ve got 2 accounts on here?

Water temperatures in the gulf have increased less than a degree in the last 100 years of tracking. Are you saying that's what's causing stronger hurricanes?

What a dumb thing to say. And so indicative of your lack of science chops.

Even the most fervent acolytes of this climate change theory have zero actual scientific proof that anything man has done has caused hurricanes to “get worse”, in fact any changes may be attributed to “natural variability”

Those are climate scientist’s words. Not mine.

You don’t believe in religious faith, yet you believe in the magical climate change religion.

Hoping people are listening and are trying to get out of Dodge.

I also hope people go and reach out just like the Louisianans did back when that storm hit Texas a couple years ago.

All of that. Plus, wetlands are nature's defense against storm surge. When you clear all the wetlands and build houses instead, you get 30 mile storm surge and lots of ruined houses.
And then you have those big *** swamp rats, **** they do more damage than hurricanes.

The Earth goes through cycles, it has since the beginning of time. That's what these self righteous "climate change" fruitcakes don't understand. Meanwhile, no other country gives a rat's *** about it.
Earth was formed billions of year after the beginning of time.
