the surge is expected to go 30 miles inland because the coast area is flat, at or below sea level. gonna be fugly

As a native Florida, I know how important it is when inclimate weather approaches to have a meteorologist you can trust, that's why I recommend this lady.

May God have mercy on those people in the path of this storm

Since it's already called Lake Charles, what will change?

Hearts and prayers out to anyone in the path of this massive storm. They’re saying it’s too late to get out now, I-10 West has closed.

hurricane michael did basically that not long ago

I figured this was gonna happen, I giggled at people saying it was gonna be cat 2

no way I said, no way it was gonna cross the huge expanse of water in those super hot areas and be a cat 2

I figured probably high cat 3, very decent chance for cat 4, and maybe a mid cat 4.
Bro IDGAF what they say, Michael was a Cat 6 or better, that $h!t took out Tyndal AFB!!!

The 3 big casinos and the chemical plants are the lifeblood of the city and it would probably take weeks if not months to get them going to their present form. I go there every couple months and my favorite boudin place will probably be gone. Praying for the people in the path of this powerful storm.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I really hate this whole "prayers for the people in the path of the hurricane" rhetoric. People are going to die and your prayers aren't going to do anything to help them.

We know what causes hurricanes and we know they're going to keep getting worse every year as we keep ignoring climate change. But people keep shrugging and praying that it won't be the case.

All of that. Plus, wetlands are nature's defense against storm surge. When you clear all the wetlands and build houses instead, you get 30 mile storm surge and lots of ruined houses.

You could be right, but when there are people that you know and there in some type of peril,I feel that if the roles where reversed at least someone was thinking of me.
