OT- Shalala

Remember, there are a lot of Hurricane fans that didn't attend the institution, in fact, there are a fair number that have never met, much less extensively socialized with someone that have. As a result, they have a flawed understanding of how the institution operates, and why things happen.

Most of these bozos couldn't fine Coral Gables on a map.

As it relates to the football program, it appears that under her watch, as little money as possible was spent on the football program. We hired head and assistant coaches with the least amount of money possible. If she was still president, do you think she would've open the purse for Mark Richt? Manny Diaz? Indoor practice facility, pipe dream.

It's amazing the turn around of the program, when you have a president committed to and willing to spend money on the football program. Stevie Wonder could see the difference.

This was the case before she was the President.

Did you start following this program on June 1, 2001?

Miami was always cheap because they didn't have a lot of money.

The same people who are whining about taking money from Shapiro are the same people who whine that we don't have any money to hire coaches.

It's comical.

Mark Richt became available so an AD that was hired on her watch pursued him. Not rocket science.

How expensive was Manny Diaz? He's also the son of a former Miami mayor. I doubt she would have balked at his hiring.

The Schwartz Center was built during her tenure. It cost $15 million. But somehow you just assume that the IPF wouldn't have happened under her watch?

You people are just delusional and filled with hatred.

This is so delusional.

Julio Frenk has literally done nothing.

Which is great. I want a President to let the athletic people do their job.

But this hatred and blaming of Shalala is so silly and devoid of facts.

It's embarrassing how much of a lightweight fan base we have.

This somehow goes as substance around here.

It was very substantive. You kept asking for proof, as if someone owes you proof, that Shalala was a disaster for the football program, and there she is, bowling and taking a check from a scam artist who **** near brought the program to an end. That photo should have ended the thread, yet here you are, still rattling on about proof and substance. I don't have to prove **** to you. The results are proof. Do I have to prove that Shalala knew Nevin was a scumbag and the money was dirty, **** no. Just like I don't have to prove that she knew Al Golden was a **** coach. The problem is that she was the president of the University, and IT WAS HER JOB to know these things.

You said earlier that it was a common tactic on message boards for people to refuse to provide proof, but I'll say it isn't quite as popular as the "I disagree with you, therefore you must prove to me that you are correct," tactic. The problem with it is that it is often used as an attempt to disprove the reality. The proof is that when Shalala took the job, the football program was on the up and up. We had the greatest college football team in the history of the sport. And when she left it was in the gutter and we suffered our worst home loss in history. This is the reality. I don't have to plot you a ******* series of events or chart each bad decision and tie it directly to her. She was the president.

You failed to address the hiring of CMR. Do you think she would have hired him at his current contract level?

Would she have fired Al?

ACC money has helped, but would/did she appropriate the funds for the football program?

IPF, would she even try?

And what does Shapiro have to do with this? We're talking about her commitment to football.

And does doppelganger=ocf?

Edward Tad Foote helped build the Miami football program, Donna Shalala almost destroyed it.

Just when I thought your perspective couldn't get any sillier you go and credit Tad Foote for the success of a football program that he was actively playing defense against.

I'm not owed anything but I challenged the claims that people were making and they were bankrupt of support for those claims.

Just as I suspected.

4 national championships during his tenure and the man hired under his tenure set up the championship for Coker. You want to credit Shalala with the 5th but want to ignore us sucking **** for a decade and a half after Butch's players left during her tenure, makes sense.

Which, again, proves how silly you and our fan base are.

You are incapable of rational thought or argument and so you think an out of context picture should end a thread.

It's the President's job to know that a donor is secretly the proprietor of a Ponzi Scheme?

What the **** are you talking about?

That is next level retardation.

It's not that I disagree with you.

It's that the facts and evidence (and common sense) disagree with you.

Not rocket science now, but at the time few wanted CMR. Who knows she may have wanted Herman or Davis.

CMR fell into our laps, there was no going after him. And I'm sure she wouldn't have spent the money on him.
