Oregon Extension on the Table for Mario

Even the most pessimistic "UM is a dumpster fire" fan isn't dumb enough to think UM is making its first sales pitch to Mario this weekend. They already have an answer. If the answer had been no, then either Diaz would have been announced as the coach for next year to give him a head start on replacing the massive turnover on the staff or we would have moved to the plan B candidate.
Exactly. You aren’t going whale hunting try to poach Clemson’s AD and just totally f*ck up the HC search. They are either both sh*tshows or neither is.

I have to imagine Mario is really not going to decide between Oregon and Miami over ~$1-2M per year (aside from the fact that there is no state tax in florida). At $8-10M per year at either school, his grandkids grandkids will be set financially forever assuming he invests it reasonably intelligently. Really up to him if he wants to come home and fix Miami or just coast up there in Oregon forever (with Riley being only real comp in pac).
Wont be forever. The demands to win now, start next year.

Why would I care?

Mario is a average coach. His winning percentage is just over .500. He has a tendency to lose games he should win.

yes, he has some pac 12 titles, in a very watered down pac 12.

This is not the guy you hire and know your gonna get a lot of wins. This is the guy you hire and hope his OC and DC are really good to get a lot of wins.

not worth 10 mill a year.
I used to think like this… till I watched us crap the bed in a very watered down ACC. With a QB that literally broke ACC records for consistently elite play.

He may feel he’s close to a title in Oregon and he owes them to stick it out. Feels he can win it, he built that **** and he’s close. Besides, the guy is only 51, and apparently loyal to a fault. Who says he can’t win a title in 3 years and go back to Miami, or Bama or anywhere else for that matter after that. Is Belichick knocking down Miami’s door? Did I miss something.? He might figure Miami isn’t going anywhere, soon, let me see them make the commitment they’re talking about (with Diaz or somebody else), and I’ll revisit this after my title run. This ain’t about the state tax in Oregon, man. Phil Knight will see to that. Not to mention the fact that Miami has to sell him that they are all in, even when the vast majority of the BoT don’t give a rats *** about football, and some of the ones that do are trying to torpedo his ***, because politics, power and influence.

Making me dizzy, but I guess I should root for Utah tonight since a loss might make the outcome happen sooner. If for example Mario does want the UM job but doesn't want his team playing the PAC conf game "knowing" he's leaving, who wants the same delay if they win and have a Rose Bowl game next...
...
...or is Mario's agent saying "stall stall stall and Phil Knight will offer more more more?" Or is Mario waiting to see which AD ( AD plan) we execute?

And who is making these offers (or counter-offers) supposedly tendered? Acting AD Jenn who is a Manny buddy? Dr. Frenk'n'staff without formal OK of the BOT to raise the offer (as needed?) Some check-writing donors pulling the strings?

Like I said: DIZZY!
