On Emmanuel Karnley...

Throwing an asterisk on his accomplishments assumes we see an equivalent level of NIL commitment without Mario.
Yes but if the HC's strength is raising NIL funds, that's a problem. It reflects poorly on the AD and infrastructure around the program. It also suggests the HC is better suited for an administrative or GM role.

Again, your argument includes classes he NEVER signed. You lost right there. And you again conveniently ignore his two 13th ranked classes at Oregon. And he just had another 13th ranked class this past year. So in 7 full classes between Oregon and here, he has had 3 classes outside the top 10. There is NOTHING elite about that.

Speaking about the 2025 class, he delivered that class with the best team in the past 10 years, the #1 offense in the country, the #1 pick in the draft, a 1st team AA WR, top 3 TE, top 5 RB and very good OL. He had all that to sell, yet he signed 1 top 100 player and not a single skill position player in the top 100. Those results in year 3, with his best season by far. Again, elite results!

And my feelings have nothing to do with anything. The results speak for themselves. I actually use real results and data, while you use make believe **** that never happened.

Your last paragraph says it all. Not only are you the ultimate apologist, you are okay if in year 4, with top 10 resources in the entire country, we not win the ACC, but perfectly fine not even making the championship game. All while SMU, Louisville and North Carolina have made the game the past 3 years.

ELITE, ELITE, ELITE!
Pushing back on the last paragraph, they really need to bring back divisions in the conference. There are some bull**** acc schedules.

You’re building one for a dude winning 10 games in the ACC, while mocking one who won 10 in 3 of the last 4 in the SEC…

:t5dia6fawihw78.jpg:
lol Bro I could give 2 ***** about 10 wins, I like the progress he's made in terms of elevating the overall talent level/building the trenches but if Mario can't win this conference championship or start getting us into the playoffs consistently then he will be a failure, just like your boy Lane Kiffin

That’s the problem with the University and the Athletic Department…

You could be right. But it doesn't change the situation. Besides, who else should they be betting their money on? Kiffin?

People on here seem to think a savior head coach will walk through the door and magically fix everything. They point to other teams where new HCs turned their programs around more quickly without looking at the unique situation at Miami where we've been mediocre and under-investing across 6 head coaches in the last 20 years.

If you see me cutting Mario slack, it's not because I think he's infallible. It's because he's the best man for the job, partly because he's a good HC, partly and relentless recruiter, but just as much because there are no better alternatives. I expect the Soffer family, Columbus gang, and other NIL backers feel the same.

Aha... moving goal posts... and of course... the my boy Lane...

“Beck is old”

He’s only 23, doesn’t turn 24 until November

Bo Nix, Michael Penix were both 24 when got drafted

This was the odds for the 1st overall pick in April 2024

Your'e the one that brought up his 10 wins in the SEC to validate him, You think Canes fans will be happy with 10 win seasons and nothing else of significance like ole miss fans ? aint the goal @ UM championships? we have a championship legacy but Ole miss well idk what their aspirations are, I guess its 10 wins in the SEC.

Just to enter the debate on Mario, it's likely he's an above average HC that gets a roster and wins to 10-11 wins consistently moving forward.

I suspect we will be always around 9 to 11 wins moving forward with a bump in more wins based on a elite QB showing up.

I think that if you put Cam Ward on this years team we'd likely be favored at 10.5.

Realistically the only question marks we have is our passing game. We'll likely be somewhere between Cam Ward and with Dawson in his first year which was 39th in CFB.

I say the best comparison is 2023, Dawson first year with TVD and Guidry first year.
Off pts we were 39th
Def pts against we were 45th

In comparison to that team we have a better OL, QB, on offense
In comparison on defense, were stronger on DL and CB maybe S

In both others that we may be worst at, were not THAT much worse, and this is all opinion.

if we can get both units into the top 25 this year, its certainly improvement, we just need one variable to be elite, where its takeaways, run game, pts scored, pass game, overall defense.

If we get in the top 25 in both and do that one elite trait I think we got a swingers chance at something special.

I didn't bring up Lane... he has choked as well...

More than 1 thing can be true at a time...

So why come down so hard on Mario all the time when there's no obvious alternative? It's not like the final Golden or Manny years where they got to 8+ wins, bet the entire program on winning on the field, then had the whole house of cards fall down when their W-L record went in the wrong direction. Mario just keeps plugging away.

I strongly disagree with Mario's decision not to pursue DTs and LBs more aggressively. But I also have to recognize he brought in some exceptional talent last portal cycle in Beck, Daniels, Blay, the Center, Bauman, and all those DBs. As you say, more than 1 thing can be true at a time.

"The only question we have is the passing game." How did you reach that conclusion?

We have no idea if he is or was the best because there was no coaching search... this is the same athletic department that repeatedly made bad hires. A competent department doesn't have 1 choice or Manny Diaz... doesn't only commit to 1 option...

Hopefully he succeeds for all of us. If not, get him the **** out of here just like the other failed coaches

Championships

You brought Lane and Ole Miss into this when I was discussing not being satisfied blowing our chance at a Natty and others being ok with 10 wins...

Mario is the HC and the HC is responsible for the outcomes, just like Manny or Golden or Shannon, etc.

Yea I brought him up in regards to you because you yourself decided to @ me in the past & say that we'd prolly be building Lane a statue if he was coaching here as opposed to what Mario's doing so far.....

So I write all of this being reasonable and you have to say something and try to be the coolest guy in the room?

I've heard people complain about you, but man, like your allowed to say nothing for once in your life, you ain't the main character.
