Excuses? The "player" you quoted as "suggesting" Butch knew things wasn't able to play, and was off the team. Either he was too damned dumb to keep up with his classes, or not good enough to play football.

Either way, he was a loser - and you know why investigators discounted his 'suggestion'? Because it could not be substantiated.

See, anyone can say things - I could suggest, for example, that you're retarded and that's the reason you can only repeat something suggested by another ******. Which half is true? That's called an unsubstantiated allegation. Unsubstantiated is the operative word there. Unless someone is a ******.

Monitoring the players does NOT mean reviewing the University curriculum requirements for a chosen field. Monitoring the players does NOT mean writing the books that will be used in class. Monitoring the players does NOT mean determining course assignments. ****, you're dumb.

Monitoring consists of 1. Are they attending classes, 2. Are they passing? 3. Are they maintaining grades? 4. Are they causing any problems.

That's it. They're young men - not pre-teen school girls.

And one more thing - they fired him to try to deflect the things the University was doing. Any problem - fire the coach, and maybe the NCAA won't look so hard.

You should hang around folks who've actually attended college - it will give you a whole new perspective.

I wouldn't mind seeing Butch get a chance if the current staff has another bad year. However, I certainly don't believe that Butch knew nothing about the academic misconduct going on at UNC. If hired, hopefully there would be some strong oversight by the University to make sure that the NCAA doesn't have another excuse to come sniffing around again.
 
He already assembled the greatest collection of talent in the history of the sport here without a hint of NCAA misconduct. Don't know why he would feel the need to cut corners if he was given another shot.

i would agree with you. The NCAA shows up again, Miami is toast. So, Butch has to answer any and all questions, and Miami do their due diligence.

Me having served in Special Forces has nothing to do with the elements you put forth as "proof," as investigators had much more access to all personnel at the University, including players - including those kicked off the team - and their conclusions all pointed to the same thing - Butch Davis had nothing to do with what went on at North Carolina. In fact, the bulk of the violations were with the basketball team.

There's no Golden obsession on my part - but you sure are touchy on the subject. Leads me to believe you're either part of Golden's staff or family of Golden's staff.

And since some of the things you say make no sense unless you were invested in Golden remaining - it's a natural conclusion.

No one can be that dense, that stupid, and that ignorant by nature - it's clearly intentional.

1. Name everyone.

2. Name those who set up the classes. (Multiple investigations found Butch was not knowledgeable. Dumbass.)

3. An Assistant - not Butch - was funneling players - and we're supposed to believe the assistant wanted that known? Again - investigation indicated Butch had not part and no knowledge. Choke on it.

4. No Coastal? Butch took over a 3-9 team at a basketball school. Had like nine players suspended - unfortunately a lot of his starters - and still won more that season than Golden did in his fourth year - with all his starters - many who went into the NFL.

5. The US Justice Department investigated and dug deep - found that Butch was clean. Period. So who in the **** are you to say different?

6.. Butch's ability to control his players is limited by law.

7. The UNC cheating scandal encompassed 3,100 students over an eighteen year period, similar, but larger than the previous academic scandals at Harvard, Duke, and the US Naval Academy.

8. Less than half of the 3,100 students were student athletes - many basketball players, and it went all the way back to Dean Smith.

9. The school (UNC) had independent study courses, but Roy Williams nor Butch had any way of knowing the simplicity of the courses - as it was determined by investigators. After all, a course is a course, and those are set up by the University. Not the athletic departments.

10. A Department Chairman and office administrator set up the classes, registered the students for the courses, assigned topics for the assignment papers, and determined the grades. No one in any athletic department had anything to do with these courses - AGAIN - available to regular students as well.

11. The UNC academic department appointed athletic department counselors - and it was they who advised student athletes - not the coaching staff.

12. Butch Davis was found clean and uninvolved by the US Department of Justice investigation, the NC Attorney General's investigation, the NCAA investigation, and the University of North Carolina investigation.


That's why I consider you to be a dumbass - arguing in light of all evidence to the contrary.
