Just my opinion but I think there might be things going on with Butch behind the scene that people in the industry (agents, AD's, BOT members) know.

Can any one explain to me, as good as a coach as he is, why he hasn't been a candidate at other job openings for the last 4 years. Every other coach with reputation issues has either gotten a job or at least been a candidate for another opportunity, but not Butch. Why is Butchs' situation so toxic that the guy can't even get an interview? I think that say's something.

That makes zero sense. He was paid approx 600K from 2013 to 2015 as part of his buyout package at UNC. Butch would command a lot more than that in todays open market, coordinators make more than that, so he is not going to hurt his bottom line just so he can stick it to a former employer.

Also Butch isn't going to just wait around for a potential UM job opening due to his "love" of the school. That would be stupidity on his part to put his career on hold to wait around for this administration to potential fire golden so he can be a candidate. His "love" for UM only goes as far as his other options, that has been proven on multiple occasions.

And that didn't answer the question why hasn't he been a candidate at any other P5 schools? Interviewing at other schools does not prevent him from accepting that 600K

I think if the fan base created the same atmosphere to bring Butch back as was made to get rid of Al then Butch would be hired back. Basically enough chatter to make the BOT and AD think they came up with the whole idea in the first place. Former players hitting the airwaves making noise would be a huge benefit.

The President is the final decision maker of any one that gets hired and fired. Its why they couldnt fire Golden .Shalala wouldnt let it happen. The board has a say in financial distributions and the hiring and firing of the president .Thats it. So people claim to know what Blake James will do know nothing.

UM could do the same, identical thing, and rest assured that Butch would not permit violations to occur.

I do think the U 2 doc helped Butch out a lot . They repeatedly mentioned how strict he was and how tight a ship he ran. From off field to going to class.
