Okay let's talk Butch...again..

We'll think of other options, and they too are pipe dreams. When Golden is fired we will hire another no name nobody.

If you hire a big name coach he can get big-name assistants to come. If you hire an up-and-coming coach guys will be questioning coming to be assistants because they're not sure if his philosophies. The same goes with recruits
 
should have been this year. actually have a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball ( golden and Dorito will waste it ) and he would have been able to work with kaaya for 2-3 seasons. **** this admin.

At least with the other pipe dream options the fan base has not been told no by those in charge of making decisions.

Also, I think this time around there will be many more options available to UM that are better than the trio of Edsall, Trestman and Golden. Some things canes fans should hope for is the Eagles to have a sh:tty season and OU to be mediocre.
 
Here's my sensible take on Butch being re-hired...

1) Donna is officially gone...she's the real culprit in the situation, not BOT members

2) No one is going to talk Butch from the top while they still have a coach in place. It was rumored that the Butch talks had mini legs to it as some BOT members were in favor, but in the end, the buyout for Golden trumped any moves that would or could be made

3) Butch has been around this program and So. Fla an awful lot compared to previous years, and again, have been rumored regarding putting out feelers around the program

4) The Admin, whether they admit it or not, is indeed starting to have buyers remorse. Adidas signed w/ us on a HUGE gamble. Pressure from this sort of an endorsement is going to force the Admin's hand to win, NOW.

5) Nothing is impossible w/ these clowns. I've learned to believe nothing that come out of these bozo's mouths. If Butch comes at a considerably less price and yield dividends on the playing field, that option is in play...bank on it

Yes, as far as a program builder that Saban says he is. But Saban never had to start so far behind as Butch did when he got here with REAL scholarship losses.

A UM fan only has to have about two neurons firing to realize Golden truly needs firing, and the sooner the better.

If we get a hungry new coach that actually works out - he'll be gone so fast - and we'll be right back in the search for a coach within three.

If we settle for a lesser coach - Cristobal, Schiano - and that ilk - ones who likewise want to move to bigger things and are in a hurry to get there, once again, they won't be here long - three and gone.

However, if we get a proven program builder, one who won't run out after he has a great season and has calls from several better-paying schools, or the NFL, then we'll have a proven commodity for the long haul - as long as he's really winning, and winning big.

If we get a proven talent evaluator and who happens to be a Master Recruiter - then he'll be stocking the team three deep with top talent that will continue to just feed the winning machine.

If we get a coach very familiar with South Florida - who recruits top athletes first - and THEN plugs them into his aggressive, attacking schemes - then we will play to the strengths of South Florida talent - not recruit positions like we've been doing the past ten years - which doesn't work down here.

There's no moving on. Choke on it.

Butch Davis is THE man in every, single aspect you want to honestly examine against others who are actually available who we can actually afford.

Availability. Interest. Capability. Proven. Cost Effective. Talent Evaluator. Talent developer. Team builder. Motivator. Recruiter.

Can't beat Butch in any of these above qualities - and certainly not when combined.

whats the difference between being under sanctions & having Al Golden as a HC. We are playing for NOTHING this season. Absolutley nothing. There is a 0% chance of any success while Al Golden is at the wheel.

Butch saves this program, but he won't get the credit. Some fans r real stupid when they say no to Butch but if it happens dey def gun eat those words n b licking his crack.
 
The decision of who will be hired for head coach is in Blake James hands not individual BOT members. Blake has a good relationship with Butch ,who has attended several UM functions in the past few years. Some of these older BOT members who participated in the hiring of Coker,Shannon and Golden should shut up and let James do his job. Shalala is gone and I expect a new energy to be breathed into the athletic program.
 
Butch has been closeto the program recently because he seen da **** product when he's covered games. He's knows this job will be opened n it's a gold mine.
 
Should he ever come back, someone please make sure to tell him we want UM Butch and not Cleveland Butch or UNC Butch.

Two guys came here and BUILT a champion: Howard and Butch. JJ, Denis and Larry won with teams in place(and Butch recruited those). I am not sure Butch can do it again BUT do we have another choice? It is not like the cheap *** BOT is going to go out and pay a top coach. Butch will come cheap and have best chance to crush it in recruiting. If he gets job before end of season, his chance to succeed next year goes up. He could have major impact on recruiting and with Brad in third year, next year could be very nice. Butch was not the greatest game day coach so might still stumble first couple years but we know what will happen with time so no banners this time.

Other than Howard, what "big name" coach has Miami ever hired? None. Miami made coaches big names. Maybe Butch will never come back but these cheap mothers will never hire a big name coach either. Heck even JJ took until his 4th to figure out how to win a Bowl game -- including managing to lose one with the greatest or next ot greatest team ever and against what was basically Al's stupid defense.

Maybe we can get Chud or Greg but more than likely it is Butch or another loser like Al.
 
Butch Davis started with crap twice.

At UM, he started with a 31 scholarship deficit. In five years, clearing the scholarship deficit, he'd built up the greatest college football team ever fielded.

At UNC, he inherited a 3-9 team. But he sure as **** waxed UM's butts while at UNC, and had it going good through strong recruiting when UNC got caught providing crip courses - and per every investigation - had no knowledge of any wrongdoing. And still won eight games in spite of losing a number of starters.

Absolutely a proven program builder.
