It was only a matter of time before TVD got killed playing in this offense with a bad Ol. We run a lot of intermediate to deep routes they need time to develop , likely off run action, out of condensed / tight sets and then mix that with a bad Ol. The ingredients were a bad mix
Agree. I'm flabbergasted by how poorly Gattis schemed to the strengths of his players. He's worse than Enos. How this guy was considered next up for a Top 20 HC job blows my mind.
I personally would have hired in an analyst to take over play calling after the UNC game, definitely after the UVA game. Not officially or publicly fired Gattis. But pulled him from calling plays. I know it's not all his fault. Thin roster to begin with, injuries across all position groups. But players who ***** up are demoted all the time, coaches shouldn't be immune.
And TVD is the type of kid who puts all that pressure on his own back. You could see him breaking under the weight of having to pull a big play out of thin air. No help from the run game, no help from his receiving corp, a terrible OC. Just a toxic ****tail all around for the young man. Like you, I knew it was only a matter of time until he got knocked out of the game.
