In a perfect world he‘d redshirt and learn. Then as a Rs Soph you have a problem on dc’s hands.

we've had 20 straight years of failure at the qb position. nearly every top qb in cfb and now even in the NFL has playmaking ability with their feet

even if it's ends up not being jacurri for whatever reason in the long term, we need dual threat qb's going forward. I'm sick of seeing statue of qb's lead us to average seasons year after year
 
Crazy what a few months have done to this team. Who would have thought our all-ACC QB would struggle so much under Gattis and ultimately get knocked out, our highly touted backup who everyone wanted to start would throw more picks than receptions, and we'd be starting JB this early in his career? I hope the kid realizes he has zero pressure to perform and goes out there and just has fun.

Really hoping Don and Rooster finish these last two games up as the RBs we thought they could be. Let's go Canes!

Really bummed jB didn’t get a RS year but it is what it is. Best case scenario imo is for TVD to come back, JB redshirts, we get a portal guy to be the backup and Emory is 3rd string. Then in 2024, JB and EW compete for the starting job.

Yes and no.
TVD is our best QB but this scheme is terrible for his skill set.
Hopefully Gattis stays very conservative and Brown’s feet keep the defense off balance.

I think part of the progression next year would be to use him in special packages for 4 games while maintaining the redshirt. The problem is that he’s such a weapon with the run that he’s so tempting to use more than 4 games. Both player and coach have to have a very clear plan on what next year will look like and stick to that plan.

All bets are off if the miracle happens today and he continues to roll. Could you imagine trying to bench a QB that is on a 4-game win streak after the catastrophe that this year has been? Almost no chance for this to happen, but interesting to think about.
 
I think our team has a higher ceiling with the right OC with TVD next year than we do with Jacurri.

This Garbage *** coaching staff burnt his RS for a few Wildcat plays....Jesus H Christ...a complete Sh*tshow from Top to Bottom...

It was only a matter of time before TVD got killed playing in this offense with a bad Ol. We run a lot of intermediate to deep routes which needs time to develop , likely off run action, out of condensed / tight sets and then mix that with a bad Ol. The ingredients were a bad mix

This is the perfect solution and situation. TVD comes back next year and is coached by a competent offensive staff. Brown redshirts and learns. And he’s the starting QB in 2024, competing for the job with a R-Fr Emory Williams.

what's he done to keep it?

put up yards against 2 of the worst defenses in the country in UNC and VT? he certainly hasn't excelled or done anything to change the outcome of games in a positive way

I like TVD and honestly hope he comes back paired with a new OC... but it's so easy for people on here to blame gattis without acknowledging that TVD has been a shell of himself this year and that he was considerably overhyped. Even with the plays we've had called, he's shown no playmaking ability when his first reads are covered and he has consitently let drives stall without making plays when it matters most

he deserved every bit of getting benched against middle tennessee state and wouldn't have even blamed the staff for doing it vs aTm when the offense was lifeless with him
