He built up Rutgers into a solid program. He's coached and recruited here and done both well. He is a legit X and Os mind on defense.

His style lends itself to South Florida football

I like Golden as a figurehead and recruiter. I want him to keep his hands off the defense and offense. He needs to bring in a new DC and give the DC complete control of scheme, philosophy, and staff. If he's not cool with that, then he can go make PSU a perennial .500 team.

Scrap the Defense. It flat out sucks. Scrap the DC, DL and OL coaches.

I just don't see the purpose of butch. Don't get me wrong, I love butch. But that reeks of a hiring off of nostalgia. Plus butch is 62 years old.

He didn't lose his talent evaluation skills as he got older. UNC put multiple guys Butch recruited in the first round, and still have some there. He can turn 2 and 3 star ranked guys into monsters. Put him back in these recruiting grounds down here, its over.

After getting fired for violations and being his second offense, i doubt he's in any position to ask for a fat contract.

Butch would take a small pay day to start and then hold UM up for a big raise the minute he did anything right. Then hold them up again the next time he did something right.

He ain't leaving. Too much for a buyout of his current contract (I have no inside, but typical for a long term contract). Family lives in Naples. He said he hasn't finished what he started here, and PSU is still under penalties.

I think he passes, or at the least, gets a Jimbo - Satan pay increase from the U.

Agreed. We are near tapped out on this guy anyways. You can't throw money at a coach who loses 4 out of his last 6 merely because other schools come knocking.

The only thing that may hold him back is that PSU may be a poor career move based on the uncertainty there. Despite the reduced sanctions, it's still a huge uphill battle there.

Yes, I would say bring in an all new defensive staff, but I would not be mad if we could bring in someone that is big time like jon gruden or someone like that. I would pursue jg again and it could be a chris peterson situation where he turns down every job but accepts one surprisingly.

Yes many things need to be tweeked and coaches need to be dismissed. AG has some very difficult decisions to make. But those wanting AG gone now after everything we have been thru are just plain ****** dumb.

Your basing he will make the correct changes on what? What has he done to show critical thinking in your expert opinion? If he makes zero changes headed into next year, what does that make you?

Yeah we're dumb for wanting a coach who is 1-12 against teams with 8 wins, and who was blown out by Louisville, and who got his *** whooped by Duke, has shown zero improvement in 3 seasons, who constantly makes excuses, who won't even get rid of our horrible DC because of his friendship, and who is constantly getting out-coached gone. Got it.

Again AG has to let go of some coaches and make some changes. If he does not then I do believe that the AG must go argument might then have some validity. Right now it is too premature and disrespectful to someone who brought us thru a major NCAA investigation.

I have a question for the thread/posters who want AG gone...how many of you contributed to the "thank you" banner? gonna go ahead and call any of you that did hypocrites. grow up!!! I am not happy with our loses and more importantly how we lost but fire AG/AG must go is premature.
