Is this a joke? We've gotten better every year since he's been here, and I think wed all be pretty surprised if that doesn't continue next year. We have top ten talent next year, if we go 9-4 with them then there's an issue.

He stuck with the program and pulled some stud recruits to go to a mediocre acc school with other coaches saying we were gonna get the death penalty.
A lot of the upperclassmen on this team were just not good ball players.

I'll admit the in game coaching wasn't great this year but I've still got faith in golden recruitin and developing players. Losing him would set us back again.

only thing that scares me about Golden leaving is that it will take the administration 4 months to find a replacement.

reasoning or common sense has no place here

Yeah...and Coker had an 80% win percentage and a national championship on his resume. I remember folks like you chastising folks like me who called for his head before it became the mainstream train of thought.

Trust your eyes...that's all I can tell you. If you don't see it by now you're going to be late to the party regardless. All of the signs of a badly coached/prepared team are right there in the open.

I like Al as a person...and I badly wanted him to succeed here. The truth the matter is you need a hungry, aggressive, ****head of a coach to win in today's college football. Al is pretty much the opposite on all 3 counts, for better or worse.

If he goes I hope the 2014 class can be saved. As far as the new coach, unless Management has changed their mind on the football front, don't expect a big name.

You could be absolutely right. There is something fundamentally wrong with the way the team has performed down the stretch. But a large portion of the the "It's Okay if Golden leaves" camp add when we get (insert high profile coach)… There is unreasonable optimism that we will land a BETTER coach if Golden leaves. More likely (based on history) we will get a project coach.

That's why, again, be careful what you wish for.

We already have one.

We might have a project coach now. But he has proven that he can recruit, has a great class in hand. In general, continuity is better then dramatic change.
