When we see guys like Malzhan or Mora begin to succeed early, Golden's rebuilding time gets shorten. If next season his teams regresses badly then it may be time to start looking elsewhere.

Although I would love to have the success that each of those guys had early, you can't really compare their situations to ours. Maybe Al is not as good a coach as those guys, but without giving him a fair shot we will never know. Next year if he doesn't improve significantly then he should be on the hot seat.

Being told Al Golden is indeed a major target for #PSU. Whether he's interested will be another matter.

People saying yes because of our recruiting class are incredibly nearsighted. In the long run this one class is of very small importance compared to having a good coach.
 
He ain't leaving. Too much for a buyout of his current contract (I have no inside, but typical for a long term contract). Family lives in Naples. He said he hasn't finished what he started here, and PSU is still under penalties.

I think he passes, or at the least, gets a Jimbo - Satan pay increase from the U.

those wanting al out of here have a memory disorder. I will be the first to agree that much needs to be done, many changes need to be made in order for him to be successfull here...but that does not erase the job he has done after being blindsided by the ***** NCAA mess. IMO some coaches do need to be dismissed but AG does not need to go.

For those that want him out of here, you think this **** is a mess now, let AG leave, let our current class fall apart, let us go thru another transition period. Sometimes the pasture seems greener from the other side. What you dont see is that there is nothing but **** and headaches there. Lets be patient and see what AG does.

If he does not make the necessary changes, then and only then do I think he will show the lack of ability to truly make it here.

Your recent memory of when the last time Golden's name was in the circle, he got the contract. Now you don't think Shalala loves golden, your crazy. He probably will get a raise out of PSU wanting him, sit back and watch. Didn't say I like it, but it's how the new U thinks and colleges react to others wanting a coach.

BTW, thanks for the neg. I could give two rat's asses about them, but I would neg the thought of my post of the U giving him a raise also, but it could become a reality as Golden is one of the worst paid coaches in the ACC.

half the posters on this thread are either mentally challenged, blind, or have difficulty thinking critically.

Yes many things need to be tweeked and coaches need to be dismissed. AG has some very difficult decisions to make. But those wanting AG gone now after everything we have been thru are just plain ****** dumb.

Yeah we're dumb for wanting a coach who is 1-12 against teams with 8 wins, and who was blown out by Louisville, and who got his *** whooped by Duke, has shown zero improvement in 3 seasons, who constantly makes excuses, who won't even get rid of our horrible DC because of his friendship, and who is constantly getting out-coached gone. Got it.


Give a reason we SHOULDN'T want him gone that doesn't have something to do with "the cloud"
 
I truly think the program is FINALLY headed in the right direction. Coker was a stupid lazy loser only to be topped by a more stupid lazy loser in Randy. Al is the right man for the job at the right time. He still has my vote and support. It couldn't happen overnight as a result of Randy's kids and the NCAA mess he and Coker left behind. I think Al deserves an even playing field and finally has the ability to recruit unchained. To early to judge. I do appreciate his loyalty to the program and will not forget it anytime soon.
