I'm reading some stuff on him now and it really sounds like he's an OL coach who was given the co-OC title to keep him around. Not taking anything away from him or saying bad decision, but not exactly the type of guy I think we have in mind. I'm guessing a fair amount of people were just like "yea get the Oklahoma OC" looked up his name and think that's the guy.

No that's not why.

"In 2015, after the Sooners averaged less than four yards per carry in four of their first five games primarily running only inside zone and outside zone, it became clear that they needed to expand. Riley and offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, developed new concepts that the Sooners added to their scheme and the Sooners now use the counter run as well."

Bedenbaugh isn't a token OC like Doc Tom Brown, (Oncologist MD). Bedenbaugh actually schemed and designed the Oklahoma offense to add a power run game to the Air Raid. He's an offensive innovator who also happens to be an elite OL coach and recruiter.

Didn't see that one. I like it

It’ll be Coley or Ponce or maybe both with Ponce as QB coach. Keeping it local. Not many other good OCs will come to Miami. The culture scares some of them off. Is it racism? You bet!

Gotta think administration will go with whom is affordable. Would like to see us making a run at...

Graham Harrell as OC and passing game coordinator. Then Bob Bostad from Wisconsin as OL coach and running game coordinator.
Money should DEFINITELY not be an issue. Miami has literally saved MILLIONS in the last month. Even taking aside the booster saying we had a million plus for an OC, Diaz bolts and was supposedly offered 1.5 but declined. Rorcht promotes position corches. Then Rorcht retires, making 4 million and doesn't take more money to do so. Next, Flake rushes to hire Diaz, who I assure you is probably around half of Rorcht's salary. There's a surplus of millions left on the table to hire a super elite staff from top to bottom.

Something to consider: several folks on our defensive staff have said (off the record) that UNC's offense was the most difficult scheme to prepare for. Fedora also fits the killer, run-up-the-score mold.
Would love it. Seems like a great idea. Fedora gets to rehab himself for another HC role. Adds a bit of support for a new coach. Maybe helps recruit Texas.

Fedora would be a great fit.

One thing that scares me about him.... I saw Elliot play in high school. He has absolutely no business being an ACC QB. You have to have an eye for talent at QB and that’s not reassuring that he went down to Texas to sign him.

And I thought richt had an issue with fedora? Now that he’s gone Miami should go after him as oc imo. That would be a great hire and a fun offense

Isn't that the scariest part? Even some of the best former players have shown shaky decision making in multiple spots - business and otherwise. Isn't there an analytical adult we can rely on? ****, crowdsource a bit. Do whatever it takes to stop falling into this addict-like pattern.

Heard from a good old friend today. Said he heard from someone ( I know who, but he would not confirm) that most of the football people Blake spoke to yesterday love Diaz and thought it was a no brainier. That surprised me. I have no idea who he talked to, but I know he does tap the old school Canes network, especially the group that was here during the Davis era.

What about Derek Dooley, his offense has been pretty explosive at Missouri this year
