OC thread

Gotta think administration will go with whom is affordable. Would like to see us making a run at...

Graham Harrell as OC and passing game coordinator. Then Bob Bostad from Wisconsin as OL coach and running game coordinator.

We would be lucky to get someone like Sarkisian. Former Head Coach and OC at different schools and the NFL. OC for Saban for a year. He is probably not within our reach.

A lot of it is just the track record of the coaching tree. Hire the apprentices, and they light up college football right away.
I'm reading some stuff on him now and it really sounds like he's an OL coach who was given the co-OC title to keep him around. Not taking anything away from him or saying bad decision, but not exactly the type of guy I think we have in mind. I'm guessing a fair amount of people were just like "yea get the Oklahoma OC" looked up his name and think that's the guy.

Bedenbaugh would likely be in the budget. Makes around 560k right now.

Bedenbaugh is realistic because he wants to call plays and move up the ladder. He’ll never do that under Riley. I’m less concerned about him not calling plays because he’s been working under a guy I consider an offensive genius.

LOL at dudes on her talking about *****in. Didn’t he turn down the LSU OC gig to take the fau HC job? Unless he hates it there I wonder how that dopey rumor started.

This....plus it seems as if disciples of the Leach/Riley/etc offense rarely fail when they go elsewhere, even as first time play-callers....I don't have a problem with someone like Ponce on staff if he is paired up with someone like Bedenbaugh...in fact, Ponce can be the next man up when Bedenbaugh moves on after a year or two...Another positive with the Leach offense is that there are disciples everywhere, at all levels of college football....a plus for a school like UM that can't compete with certain programs with bigger budgets.

Mike Kafka. Watch that name.

That'd be interesting. Andy Reid guy. Andy's refined (or maybe, just NFL-ized it) a lot of the air raid concepts this year. Always worry about if an NFL guy would be willing to get out and recruit. Young, smart guy though....would be interested.

To be fair though, the Leach disciples weren't---to my knowledge---oline coaches. Again, could be wrong, and by all means talk to the guy b/c it sounds interesting to me, but I think his situation is different than like Holgo or Kliff when they were receiving coaches or whatever. For all I know, maybe it doesn't make any difference, but just saying that it's worth mentioning before we think Leach tree = automatic savant.

To keep everyone and only add an OC
I doubt It’s that, Blake James approached richt about changes and they James danced around it in his press conference but he indicated that he may have had that sensitive talk about richt jr.
if I’m a betting Man I highly doubt richt jr and searels will be here

TF is this bull****? What happened to letting the HC make all the hiring decisions?
Maybe when he says meet expectations , Blake is talking about him hiring a quality oc. Remember James had been getting a bunch of pressure to fix the offense

Fair points.....I think this is the type of offense where reagrdless of what position you coach, you will know it pretty well....it is not a difficult offense to run...also, as OC he would presumably have the opportunity to bring in 2-3 of his fellow disciples.
