Time for those expensive HS blue chip recruits to show up… maybe the staff needed someone to blow them away with walk in and start production

Haucley not being here committed is a little annoying but we’ve got talent at LB, DT, and WR that is weighing down our NIL show up or let the purge begin

I think we’re better with him on the team. He already knows the system vs. bringing in a guy that has to learn new terminology. And apparently we didn’t wanna “overspend” on a WR that’s not a “dude”. Honestly, I didn’t see a “dude” at X or Z, in the portal that was a must get. Now, what he must do is get his *** on the field. Kid can play.

Here is the truth about your perception of reality. It's a sweet, naive fairy tale.

In 2025, if you want a "true" WR1 in the portal, you backchannel him into the portal. Since January, we have been told this player was coming. Rumors abound that it was an SEC kid, and how Beck would help with that process.

Well, the portal is closed and that did not materialize. Staff didn't get it done. Anything else you hear is bull**** and excuse making.
 
Irish are going to run the ball right down our throat first game, no way our front seven is better this year on D.
We needed at a minimum a war daddy in the middle and a linebacker that could tackle, but we have 15 OL and 10 cornerbacks ……… lol

They act like we just didn’t pick up a top safety last portal . Move one of those big *** cbs to saftey . I’m more concerned about having a big wr target 6ft 3 or bigger

I think people are just rightfully having flashbacks of being worried about safety and hearing how Jaden Harris and co would be more reliable than Kinchens and Williams
 
Massively disappointing spring portal shopping. Felt like they was just searching for cheap options and looks like that’s how it’s going to end.

Now we have to rely on the staffs development with young guys at S, DT, LB, and WR. You have to pray some guys make a leap over the summer but it’s worrisome right now.

FACTS! There is literally no excuse for not getting it done at WR and S. And IMO DT and LB.

Safety: Got to hope we win the bid vs LSU for Halcy and also bring in the UF kid
What happened to the 3 LBers we liked in the portal, are all now committed?
Are there any even decent depth options left at DT and WR? ... Kicker?

My biggest issue? The whole "we aren't as far along with Pena or Stone because the focus is on an elite WR and safety" narrative.

I have no idea if our lukewarm pursuit is the reason we didn't land Pena and haven't made progress with other guys, but sitting around and waiting for some proven WR to pop into the portal when Pena had 84 catches and nearly 1,000 yards last season looks foolish now.

There weren't too many elite guys that entered, but hopefully they land Haulcy and Bonner and Auburn and we make do with the rest.
