No Pena, No Haulcy, No LB, No DTs, No #1 WR…

I’m just seeing way too many messages saying the run game will be elite.

Does CIS know we were 72nd in run blocking per PFF last season with that elite OL? We finished under a 65 average in every game except Ball Stank and FAMU…

So we’re losing our best back, one that was amazing after contact…and we’re somehow going to jump from 72nd to top 10 in rushing?

Call me a cynic, but numbers don’t lie. And I’m pretty confident we’re not jumping into the top 20 in terms of rushing offense.

The numbers don't lie.

#5 in yards per rush
#1 in P4 in TFL allowed

We were also #1 in 3rd down conversion by a mile. Second place was closer to #20 than to #1. Cam Ward helped, but Wazzu was 51st the year before with better receivers. We converted everything short and always had favorable down and distance because of our run gam.

If we can replicate last year's running game (big if), this will be an elite group. That PFF grade is silly in light of the real stats.

@DMoney do you think our narrow line split make us more vulnerable to sacks?

I like JD but he’s not telling us Canes fans anything we don’t already know. Beck can make personal connections with his team mates but obviously will need to make on field connections with them - especially the WR’s. He’s got all summer and then fall camp to do that.

Respectfully, you can't speak for the entire fanbase.

One page back in this thread will tell you some fans either don't know or can't read. Sometimes it takes saying the same thing with different mediums to convey simple concepts.

I have a real good feeling about this team next year. Really, if you compare to other ACC teams, our position groups, only clemson and maybe louisville on offense can match us, with clemson a little ahead in terms of proven production. Now, i think our second safety position group and DT depth after first 3 or 4 is hairy at best & not having a proven, sure fire #1 receiver could cause a little angst early on in the season, but overall very pleased with and coaching overhaul on defense. The culture seems built and we have like 6 transfers that are trying to prove 2023 was not a fluke and they are really good players.

Accounts like him and Josh just rotate programs daily for clicks lol
yes, but apparently some members within the fanbase have sub-average general intellectual functioning and profound expressive limitations, so they need things like this said repeatedly in multiple ways to understand.

Just wait and see, I'm sure they'll be chiming in shortly...

Even when multiple talking heads convey the same message, it still doesn’t seem to sink in for some.

It puts more pressure on the tackles but it limits free rushers inside and helps with DL games.
yeah but are tackles are really good this year = Bell and Francis can handle it with a back chipping and TE here and there. And our interior oline this year has in my opinion has upgraded at center (Zach Carpentar was solid), but by all accounts are new center from TCU is an upgrade (he is like a 5th round pick) and rodriguez is better than mccoy at guard & now mccoy can be swing tackle, which he has done in games and is his more natural position. I think kinsler is going to be ready this fall at a solid level and report of other young gaurds stepping up and pancake honcho is also getting better and can play guard serviceably, in case we are in a pinch. Also, cooper seems possessed this year to be a day 2 pick, and he will be a monster with an improving francis (top ten pick maybe). The right side of our line can really run block, especially adding two physical TE's, I honestly (no koolaid drinking) i think our oline barring major injury, is going to be top 3 in the country and definitely #1 in acc, yes even in front of clemson
