You’re 100% right though, there are no excuses idgaf what parameters people wanna set up to let Manny off the hook, at the end of the day he has no more options left to blame anything on, it’s win or bust this season.

If we don’t win the coastal now, we’re never going to win it in his tenure, we have more than enough to go on a run this season & win 10/11 games.

People need to take the training wheels off & stop babying Manny, he’s a Head ****** Coach of one of the most recognizable brands & top 30 profitable programs in the nation, THE U! If he can’t handle the heat, step aside & let someone else do it.

They had to replace their OC

They have to replace 2 of their top OLmen

They have to replace their award winning long snapper

They have to place their #1 TE


Yet, I don’t hear them making any type of excuses like this fan base does w/ Manny, and I can guarantee that Nick looks at his roster, **** be the age or playing experience, and he’s looking at them like they should win!

Yea I don’t get why everyone has a caveat on King’s availability. Y’all scared Lashlee gonna bounce, but don’t think he’ll have a young gun ready to go if King ain’t ready??? Clemson’s true freshman put up almost 500 yards at ND...outside of Bama no one on our schedule comes remotely close to being on ND’s level last year. Coastal or bust

I guess I'll be the mope. Poorly mismanaged rosters for years don't just magically become whole because of some great coaching hires. We still have depth issues at WR, LB and CB. Excited yes, but cautiously optimistic that this was another correct step up the mountain. Still need an infusion of players to make some cot **** plays and not be told such and such was whatever star coming out of HS.

True, but nah. We've got more than enough to win the **** Coastal with good coaching. We're not talking about beating Clemson or making it to the playoffs next year.

Just win the Coastal. Win the cot **** Coastal. No excuses.

I guess my issue is more or less, we don't know what we don't know, particularly at WR with the young guys. Smith looks to be the one taking strides to take some PT. Kind of a head scratcher to not see anyone step up and take snaps from 6 and 8 all year. That's why I went with WR. The recruiting sites say there is talent, but no1 can get on the field and prove it.

Manziel, Mond, Corral, Tua, Lawrence, DJ, the kid from SC who was like the 3rd string freshman who name escapes me, Hurts, Fromm, Rattler, etc etc. Bruh, these boys w/ the rule changes to protect QBs more diligently, are coming out slanging and winning. So if King is not healthy, I would hope the evaluation & QB Tutelage for the #7 QB in the nation in TVD & #5 QB in the nation in Jake Garcia will be enough to have them ready to beat the likes of UVA, Pitt, Duke, etc.

If our season solely rest on a healthy King, then brethren we have bigger issues b/c King won’t be here next yr.

Despite what anyone feels; whether U’re classified as a “mope” or “slurper”, we all gotta agree there is no more excuses left not to win 10+ games w/ a trip to the ACCCG this yr.

@DMoney highlighted how age & experience plays a big role in championship level football. I agree; Manny did a gr8 job in keeping majority of the kids from either prematurely transferring or seeking NFL pasturage.

@Dwinstitles highlighted for several yrs about how recruiting & stars matter. Well, we have some real blue chips on this squad

@Cribby highlighted the importance of a complete staff; & frankly, this is the best staff we’ve had in yrs. Kudos to Manny; highly sought after guys coming from big time programs.

We’ve all talked about continuity; well, this is the first time in a minute where the offensive guys are going to play in the same system & the defensive system has been around for 6 yrs.


We just very well might lose to Bama; that’s completely inconsequential in regards to winning 10+ games & winning this division. I don’t think it’s too much to ask to play the Atlantic Champ this season in the title game. I don’t think it’s too much to be vying for at least a NY6 bowl game.

We have all the ingredients:
-Experience
-Talent
-Coaching Staff
-Continuity
-Favorable Schedule

If we don’t accomplish this now, in yr 3 w/ all we have going, then whether U’re a mope or a slurp, we should all feel very cheated & disappointed. No excuses this time, fellas.

Absolutely correct. Freshmen QB,s play good ball around the country every year. With 2 highly rated young ones on hand I do not understand the fear of King not being ready. Would not surprise me if one or both of them better than King In their first season starting. Not a knock against King. Just think he has limitations on how far he can carry us. I think fans live in a bubble, and also, “the young” excuse has been used as a crutch by coaches here, so they take it & run w/ that’s the norm; that losing games b/c u have a young team is acceptable.

Top programs are always replacing guys, either it’s w/ brand, 1st time starters or true freshman. They don’t use that as an excuse.
