N'kosi Perry

I picked Tate to win the QB race back in February before Spring camp even started, it made too much sense for us to go through all the trouble of getting him in transfer & then getting the waiver for us not to start him.

But that doesn't mean I still don't want the best QB to win, regardless of who it is. Your issue is you think that everyone that doesn't root specifically for Tate & Tate only are Kosi fans, or anti-Tate, but that's not the case at all. Most of us that have been fans for longer than a few months have seen this happen a million times at Miami & most of us have learned the hard way that worshipping one guy over another rarely ever works out in the long run.

What you're doing is projecting, you assume that because you're such a fervent Tate fan that then makes everyone else a fervent Kosi fan, but trust me, the majority of this board does NOT like Kosi & does not want him to win the job, you've just only been here for a few months but Kosi is the furthest thing from a fan favorite.

The people who want the best man to win, are saying that from the perspective of wisdom & experience. This thing is a marathon not a sprint & this board will turn quickly on a QB if he starts losing games.

This is what people like this kid don’t understand.

I honestly don’t care who starts. I don’t have a favorite. I just want to WIN! By any means necessary. It would be stupid for me to get a hardon for one guy.

And honestly I don’t have any information to really make a strong projection either way. Some days I think it might be Tate. Some days I think it might be Kosi. ****, even some days I think it might be Jarren. Why? Is it indecision? No.

It’s just that I take the coaches for their word when they said it was tight at the end of spring practice, and I’m also taking into consideration the fact that there are weeks and weeks for them to do their own work, improve their standing, and we have not even started summer/fall practice. We will know soon enough.

Perry has all the physical tools, I agree with that. He has none of the mental tools. Last year, he looked like he's never read a defense in his life. Either that's because he never studied football or he's just really mentally slow. But in either case, all of those physical tools are wasted on him.

If he puts in the time and learns to read a defense, I'll be pleasantly surprised. A tiger never changes its stripes. There's a reason that saying exists.
Have you any proof that Martell knows how to read a defense considering he struggles to see over the oline.

You don’t know what his work ethic is. I don’t know what his work ethic is. Only the coaches. Don’t pretend to know something that you don’t actually know.

Well, he sure as **** didn't know the play book last season. That's why Richt had to simplify things and have our center pointing things out.

And when you don't know Richt's four plays - that's saying a lot!

We also saw a talented arm - but couldn't keep up with the speed of the game on a consistent basis.

He may be the guy.

But based on what I've seen - if he is - we really don't have The Guy.

Granted they can all improve with a solid QB coach like Enos.. Enos will develop as well as design schemes that fit a particular skill set. You need to take a step up from HS regardless of "pedigree"as some levels natural talent takes you a long way in HS ball
right now, i have a very low level of confidence in Perry...... like Bill Parcells says You can't coach dumb and perry stunts last year smack of a guy who might never grow up ? QB needs to have leadership qualities and am not seeing that in Perry
Martell yes, Williams yes. Perry will have to prove me wrong. not to say he's an impossibility but quite the long shot.
I hear you, but I wouldn't label Perry as dumb. Doing dumb and being dumb are two different things. Being dumb refers to intelligence. Doing dumb refers to immaturity. By all accounts, Perry has done a 180 and has shown maturity. We'll see if that holds true.

Enos said that he wants to eliminate one QB from the race early in fall camp and I think that's Kosi. But yeah I don't think Kosi leaves until he's a grad transfer. Idk if he's on track to get a degree early so that may not be until after his RS Junior year.
I don't understand your reasoning. You provided nothing to support your statement. By most if not all accounts, Perry had the more consistent Spring and has a slight lead going into Fall camp. Why do you believe he's going to be 3rd string?

his flash of brilliance is less than 50% completions and being god awful anytime he had more than 50 yards of field to score with? pls don't bring up a game our defense single handedly won, as a QB's flash of brilliance.

Why? N'kosi's best games were still not complete. He was 13/34 against FSU. What has he done to be handed the job? He should have to earn it because he lost the benefit of the doubt by not being the most prepared and hungry QB last year. Rosier shouldn't have had a chance
Remember Cager, et al, dropped 5 balls that game.

Are you fvkng kidding me? Our regular season floor should be 11 wins with any of the QBs. Only game I expect to lose is against UF.

The hardest game of the yr will be against an ACC opponent not UF. I'm predicting either FSU or PITT. The hardest thing to do in college football is to win conference games on the road..regardless of the W-L record of the opponent. For an OriginalGatorHator..you sure do like to give UF a lot of praise. Needless to say..they are vastly overrated. It's never a good idea to try to predict the upcoming season, based on last season results. I'm afraid that's not how college football works-the entire sport is based on turnover.

We are going to SMASH FSU and Pitt. Bank on that. If anything UVA will be our hardest ACC opponent. I don't see us losing to any ACC team.

Find me a Miami fan who doesn't want the best QB to win.

My point is everyone has an opinion on who they think that will be.
Except, your point is BS. You don't get to speak for "everyone." I have no opinion on who it will be. None of the three separated themselves from the others in Spring. None of them have shown anything, past or present, to say that he is the man. But hey, I guess I do know who it will be....it will be the one that Enos feels best works in his offense...and I'm perfectly fine with that.

This little kid doesn’t get it.

This thread shows how full of **** our fans are. One minute it’s richts fault and his son right, then it’s the oline coach couldn’t coach, then it’s the receivers, right all these are legit issues. Now maybe hindsight is 20/20 but when I watched the game I remembered multiple drops that would completely shut drives down. I also remember terrible route combos and ****** play development by the coaches game planning which held this kid back obviously.

Now I can respect your opinion if you blatantly come out and say kosi did dumb **** and I can’t get over that but on the field there were way bigger issues then a qb who clearly was put in bad situations that also attributed to his bad completion percentage and rhythm for the game like coming in after Malik rosier has thrown three interceptions against duke in the pouring rain. Cold off the bench but maybe because I’ve played football I know that’s not a good way to come in the game. Getting snatched vs Virginia got 2 picks right after beating FSU after your supposedly the guy then your back up is given the chance to throw 3 more picks and not be taken out.

These aren’t excuses these are facts I can get into the Pitt game of seeing Dee Wiggins completely stop 2 drives with drops. Or seeing Lawrence cager do Lawrence cager ****. Did kosi have bad throws yes but every qb including Trevor Lawrence tua and any qb Tom Brady or Peyton Manning had bad throws but you know the difference between them and kosi they were allowed to continue to play and develop and correct mistakes thru game development with great coaching two things we were not afforded until now.

Final while I truly don’t care what who wins the job i can’t stand seeing you fans act like Tate’s some great qb. His own coach at osu said he can’t throw that’s not hyperbole that’s what the man who recruited him said. The kids a great runner that’s cool but we need somebody who can throw the ball or we are going to run into the same issues we had with rosier. Idc what kind of supposed it factor the kid has didn’t matter much at osu or they wouldn’t have brought in fields. He has issues just like kosi and Jarren truly stop with the Tate’s clearly the guy bull**** the man was trash most of spring that’s not hear say that’s facts. Kosi and Jarren outplayed him. I love my team not a player and you fans who are limiting our wins because you hate a kid because he did something you don’t like shows you would rather hate a kid who has obviously tried to mature and battle back and win this job fair and square and take coaching and improve and hope for the best and get behind him and believe in him if he does win it and stop being pessimistic and take a wait and see approach.

100% in agreement .I hope for the young man that he was in fact doing dumb. hopefully new staff had made a difference
in Perry growing up..... still think season hinges on performance of O line.....

LOL. Urban Meyer is one of the best in the game and personally recruited Tate, praised him for running all over the defense on the scout team and showed out every time he saw the field. I've never seen one comment from any coach that says he can't throw and it doesn't matter anyway, because anyone that watches his film can see that's a lie.
I'm a Miami fan and I know I defend Tate a lot and there's two reasons for it. First, because I actually do believe he's by far the most talented QB. Second, you say the majority hates on the other QBs but what I see is the majority hating on Tate and it's comical. This very site is the first I heard of him and it was all about how he was a Johnny football clone and was going to win the Heisman. As soon as he came to Miami, the haters came out in full force.

Bro urban Meyer doesn’t run Miami this isn’t his system so that’s irrelevant and his hand picked successor chose to let Tate walk stop with the most talented kid isn’t a scrub but he player with an all star Team in Nevada. I’ve never been a manziel fan again if Tate wins great but he’s not head and shoulders anything over either qb he’s in a fight and he has to prove he can throw and not against the third team. Prove it everyday prove it on green tree

Thank you for being sensible too many here think they are gods gift to message boards. Like I said and you backed up Tate might be a good running back. N'kosi has the attributes and now

Not easy but finally a sensible well thought out post..good job.
