N'kosi Perry

Why would we be in trouble? People look at a 1st year starter and pass judgment as what they saw is the ceiling and ready to dismiss them. A young QB is going to make significant improvement in year two. You can't look at the rare freshman QBs around the country that have had huge success and think that is the norm. It's not. Look at Ian Book from Notre Dame that looked awful against us in 2017 as a backup his Sophomore year. He improved tremendously in his Junior year to win the starting job and lead ND to the CFP.

The thing to remember is that all 3 of our QBs were highly touted coming out of high school. That pedigree doesn't change. They just have to continue to improve to "bring it" at the next level.
Granted they can all improve with a solid QB coach like Enos.. Enos will develop as well as design schemes that fit a particular skill set. You need to take a step up from HS regardless of "pedigree"as some levels natural talent takes you a long way in HS ball
right now, i have a very low level of confidence in Perry...... like Bill Parcells says You can't coach dumb and perry stunts last year smack of a guy who might never grow up ? QB needs to have leadership qualities and am not seeing that in Perry
Martell yes, Williams yes. Perry will have to prove me wrong. not to say he's an impossibility but quite the long shot.

Nothing is settled at this point. All the qbs should benefit from Enos" coaching. My gut feeling is that Martell will win the job, but thst id just my speculation.

Him having a low work ethic. That, and watching him throw picks over and over again last year.

It's like people around here have goldfish memories. Y'all were cursing N'Kosi Perry just a few months ago. Desire breeds hope, and hope breeds delusion, though. That's a fact.
You do realize we went 4-2 with N’Kosi starting last year?

I’m sure you realize that you’re posting in a forum where a statement like “water is wet” could easily produce a 30+ page thread of back and forth arguments.

Well played.

1) Nothing to argue... water is definitely NOT wet.

2) On the other hand, my current statement is false.

The more often people on this board post "_____ will start against the Gators." The more likely it will happen. It's just science.

I’d like to point out we play in the ACC + weak *** schedule as well. Feel like that doesn’t get mentioned enough because of an odd conference pride thing that I will never understand.

Look the kid has a very good arm he is mobile he has experience . I'm surprised there is even a question here about this.Tell me big game Natl Tv we have to be ready. N'kosi is easily our best shot.

Yep, got that right. Call off fall practice, everybody. QB's stay home. N'Kosi's been here the longest.

Dude had just a 50.8% passing completion percentage over a rather large sample size (191 attempts). He went 6/24 passing for 52 yards in our last regular season game, an indication he did not improve.

So no, I don't have any confidence in him right now. These days, you see teams with stud freshmen QB's making all types of plays that inspire confidence. I didn't get that vibe at all last year, but I hope he drastically changes. Let's not bury our heads in the sand and pin all his troubles on Richt.

Thank you.

I trust Enos and staff. Weird being able to say that..lol May the best man win the job, blossom, and lead our offense...I don’t care if it’s Auggie Deboise. I just want someone to run Enos system, show composure, and consistently get the ball to our skill guys.🙌🙌🙌

Lol all the closet Kosi fans butt hurt.

"I just want the best QB to win" is code for "I think (insert name) is going to win but I don't have the balls to give an opinion in fear of being wrong."

Or maybe, just maybe, some really do want to see the QB who gives Miami the best chance to win on the field.

Case in point: If YOU are better than the three, I'll personally pay to get you to Greentree. If the homeless dude on Collins can get it done, find him a uni. Whatever, whoever, get the athlete Miami needs out there pronto.

Find me a Miami fan who doesn't want the best QB to win.

My point is everyone has an opinion on who they think that will be.

My point was you implied, perhaps outright said, anyone wanting the best to win was code for soft/fear of being wrong.

Perhaps for some, perhaps not so much for others.

Keep on keep'n on.

I picked Tate to win the QB race back in February before Spring camp even started, it made too much sense for us to go through all the trouble of getting him in transfer & then getting the waiver for us not to start him.

But that doesn't mean I still don't want the best QB to win, regardless of who it is. Your issue is you think that everyone that doesn't root specifically for Tate & Tate only are Kosi fans, or anti-Tate, but that's not the case at all. Most of us that have been fans for longer than a few months have seen this happen a million times at Miami & most of us have learned the hard way that worshipping one guy over another rarely ever works out in the long run.

What you're doing is projecting, you assume that because you're such a fervent Tate fan that then makes everyone else a fervent Kosi fan, but trust me, the majority of this board does NOT like Kosi & does not want him to win the job, you've just only been here for a few months but Kosi is the furthest thing from a fan favorite.

The people who want the best man to win, are saying that from the perspective of wisdom & experience. This thing is a marathon not a sprint & this board will turn quickly on a QB if he starts losing games.
Like I said to the other dude, find me a Miami fan who doesn't want the best QB to win.

I'm saying I want the best QB to win and I think the best QB is Tate Martell. I think Kosi is the first to get eliminated.

So which one is it? One minute its our receivers can't catch now you're highlighting his 13 for 34 against FSU, so can our receivers catch or not? Asking for my imaginary friend who name is Dugans.
I surely don't always blame the receiver for all drops. Some QB's have a better touch than others. Brady might not have the biggest arm but has the best touch that's why his balls are easier to catch. JMO

By eliminated you mean transferring?

Because as of now, Jarren would probably leave first between him & Kosi if he doesn't win the starting job & is the 3rd string QB. Kosi will be a red Junior next year, he already redshirted his freshman season & if he left after Fall camp he would have to shirt again or go FCS/Juco to have immediate eligibility for 2020, he's probably not leaving until he graduates & can be a grad transfer.

I saw Tate in HS at least 5 times, I said he would never start at OS. He wasn't even the best QB on the field when they played one of the SF teams. If he's better now great. I hope one of these 3 kids rises to the top so there is no question or complaints. I'm sick of losing, most of us really don't care who starts, just win. Nice post by the way..

Enos said that he wants to eliminate one QB from the race early in fall camp and I think that's Kosi. But yeah I don't think Kosi leaves until he's a grad transfer. Idk if he's on track to get a degree early so that may not be until after his RS Junior year.
