Miles Out...Cameron too..

If you're a guy like Herman there are a lot of other places where you can win just as fast or faster WITHOUT the immediate expectations of your typical deludinoid SEC fanbase AND not have to deal with Saban's last few good years.

Briles makes a ton of sense but I don't know if even LSU is ready for that so soon. That said, it was interesting that his image rehab has started to intensify recently. Latest was Ken Starr saying that Briles was absolutely railroaded at Baylor.

One would think Petrino's fall from grace would make him a better person than to jump ship on the program that gave him a second chance.

Nahhh...

He is paid well and has a $10MM buyout. UL will keep him and give him another raise.

I don't think Petrino will go anywhere, but I'm prepared to see all sorts of records broken for coaching buyouts.

This, but L$U clearly gives 0 ***** about money. They'll pay Miles's buyout, and any of their top targets buyout.

Herman is what I just got told by an Lsu fiend . We will see if he's full of sh/t or not

Herman's definitely their top guy. Doesn't mean he'd accept the job without seeing what else opens up. He can create a bidding war by waiting this out.

I highly doubt herman would move to Texas from Houston. USC tho..

So you think they will pay $13MM for Les's buyout and another $10MM for Petrino's?

Was that the same Ken Starr who became a national joke when he couldn't answer questions on his own during an interview and some woman had to stop the interview several times to blatantly coach him? That buffoon?

Try that while most of the state of Louisiana is living in caves and see how that works out.

Ohhhh, I didn't say it was a valid defense but it was a public one nonetheless. And it followed Briles going public himself. Just saying that the bar for what counts as appropriate contrition/rehabilitation is a lot less in places like Weezyanna.

You're absolutely right about that.

Lol, wut? Texas is precisely the job he wants. And USCw would never hire him because they have their heads too far up their *** with their "pro style offense" and "USC guy" mentality.

LSU is a media darling SEC school. They can do no wrong.

They hire Briles and it's a "redemption" story.

If we ever hired a guy like Briles the world would end.

How does a coach redeem himself for his role in covering up multiple rape allegations? One year off the sideline from a multi-million dollar job? I know we hate the $SEC but I think this angle might be a reach.

He didn't cover up rape allegations. I'm tired of these people who think just because someone is accused of something that they are guilty and should be kicked off the team.

Fine. Briles, as the HC of the football program bore much of the responsibility for a culture that "failed to take appropriate action to respond to reports of sexual assault and dating violence reportedly committed by football players. The choices made by football staff and athletics leadership, in some instances, posed a risk to campus safety and the integrity of the University...actively discouraged some complainants from reporting or participating in student conduct processes and in one case constituted retaliation against a complainant for reporting sexual assault."

However, Twitter is reporting that LSU may reach out to Briles...

The whole Briles/Chris Petersen story about Sam Ukwuachu was grounds for dismissal ALONE. And I'm one that thinks athletic departments are often held to too high of a standard by administrations and the media.

Lsu is a trap job. Expectations are unreal there and you have to go through Alabama every year. Next person they hire won't be 114-34 like miles but a change was needed. Just gonna be a lot of pressure on next guy

This is the same Ken Starr who spent $50M in tax dollars trying to nail Bill Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

What incredible irony....

If there's a goodbye press conference someone should ask Ol' Lester if he has any interest in the Michigan job.

I'm willing to bet a year of helton could make them swallow their pride. My point with Texas is that while they may have more resources than Houston, Herman's already passed them in just about every aspect. Not everyone wants Texas because TEXAS. Look at tcu

I would be willing to bet a large amount of money that Petrino gets the LSU job.

The dude was 34-17 at fr**king Arkansas. Terrible person but a top 5 head coach.
How about a small amount? He isn't leaving Louisville. Jurich made his contract exceedingly onerous to extricate himself from. Plus, he can win a NC at Louisville easier than at LSU with an easier path through the ACC.

You will not be a popular guy with that insane statement.

Don't know if this is true, but a decent source said they were prepared to do that last year, except they were simultaneously requesting more funds from the state for the school. Things fell apart for those reasons. Take that for whatever message board fodder it's worth.
