CFP is a complete joke. It's a good ole boys club that we're not part of. If you're not in the SEC or BIG you're relegated to being a also ran (with the exception of ND). Scraping by a terrible Auburn team > than any win we could ever have.

Off to another scrub bowl that 1/2 the team will sit out of. Yay.....
The table has been set so that WWE style, Miami is laying in the table while ND jumps off the top rope with the peoples elbow

After my last post, what if BYU wins and Alabama loses?

How does the SEC respond to that possibility?
They drop Bama to 10th and ND is out replaced by BYU, whom they will likely rank in the 9th spot or at 8, just above Oklahoma.

BYU is not good. I’ve watched all of their games. They are a decent team but they aren’t top 10 good.

Im def more hopeful. I think what people dont see is the comittee ranks teams based on their predictions.Last year week 11 those were the rankings we were on the "outside" looking in. BUT the comittee expected us to beat syracuse and then beat SMU and we would have been in as ACC champs.

This year they dropped us way lower than we should have been after losing to SMU bc the comittee predicted we would lose another game making their ranking of us so low justified.

These rankings basically is just the comittee banking on BYU to lose and Georgia to beat alabama so both Bama and ND are in as the 11 and 12 seeds

If BYU loses and bama wins the comittee would have to move us up and theyre not banking on that.

But all that to say Georgia probably wins.... but if they dont we are in IMO.

Ideally, yes. I don’t think Bama can drop behind us though, and honestly I agree with that. You made the SECCG. You’re in the playoff. You can’t be out if you lose. I guess if it’s 45-3 or something but that’s bull****.

IMO Bama is in no matter what. But we do want them to win to not drop down to 10 and put a buffer between us and ND again.

If Bama wins and Texas Tech wins, god help the committee if they make the final poll ND 10 and Miami 11. This is all already unfair and generating a ton of media buzz. And that’s when they were 3 spots apart. Imagine if they’re back to back and they put ND ahead? That can’t happen. (I’m fully aware it will).
I’ve been pretty pessimistic about this whole process since the start thinking there’s no way they put us in.

But after tonight, it’s the first time I’ve been somewhat optimistic about our chances. I think they’re hearing the noise / feeling the pressure of having ND in while keeping us out. And that’s why they moved ND one spot closer to us. Even their rationale for moving Bama ahead made zero sense. They beat a 5-7 team by a touchdown, and they liked their 4th down gutsy call? I think it’s setting up the scenario we’re all saying (ie BYU loses, moving us to 11th right next to ND, at which point they can’t ignore the H2h.).

PS. I realize I’m setting myself up for huge disappointment come Sunday when either (a) BYU beats TT and this is all moot or (b) they still keep ND at 10 and us at 11 being first team out.

Watch BYU beat TT and this is all for nothing lol
I like Bear Bachmeier and as a True Freshman, he’s been great.

But he also has a lot of flaws throwing the ball and they become one dimensional when teams force him to only run the ball on QB draws.

BYU is a hugely flawed team. They are not better than Miami or Notre Dame or any team in the top 10 except for Oklahoma. That is the only team they have a chance to beat.

I am calling it now:

Texas Tech - 40
BYU - 17

Notre Dame loses that faceoff. They moved Bama up specifically for that reason. As long as they keep it within 14 they’ll drop them to 10 and move BYU up to 9. ND drops to 11 were at 12 and that’s it. And the committee will probably spit on us and move us to 11 and tell us better luck next year.
