BYU earned the right to play in their CG and if they get trounced, they're out of the playoff. Aside from being in the sacred cow SEC, aren't these the same scenario? In any case, I acknowledged this would be a wild scenario but something to look at. Who knows with these CGs - there might be a big injury, etc.
But in general, yeah, we need BYU loss and a Bama win this weekend and then let the chips fall where they may.
You’re ******* crazy. Here's something else to ponder. I think it's best if both Bama and BYU to win. A Bama win keeps them above ND and a BYU win allows them to jump ND. I don't think TT or Georgia falls below ND with a loss. So then there's another opportunity for the 10/11 ND Miami debate.
You're rightYou’re ******* crazy.
A BYU win = Miami and ND out
A BYU loss = EITHER ND or Miami in. It’s quite literally that simple.
The only question is if the committee is going to keep Devaluing the H2H or not.
They will just move ND upCertainly a growing media consensus that if BYU loses we jump ND.
They will just move ND up
The buffer was within 3 spots a few weeks now it's 1This is the problem.
The Committee can rig the rankings however they want to justify their decision.
If they want Miami in, they can put us next to each other and flip the teams.
If they want Notre Dame in, they can create a buffer by moving them ahead of Bama (or even UGA if they lose).
It really just comes down to which team the Committee wants in the playoffs.
Not loving our chances, but it ain't ova til it's ova.

It’s trending that way. They are even backtracking from the H2H criteria based on the chair’s talking points. If they haven’t moved us over ND by now (after a resounding win), they won’t while we’re both idle
Bama is not getting left out. You should not be wanting to find out if they’d just flip ND and Bama again, if Bama loses, and **** us.You’re ******* crazy.

Josh mentions ACC dooms day scenario if duke wins and ACC gets left and how commitee wouldnt want that. My question is why would they care if ACC is out. All they care about is SEC
Pate and Herbstreet both saying Miami should be over ND if BYU loses.
Pate mentioned Duke winning furthers our cause because playoff wasn’t created to have 2 G5 teams make the playoff
Well put sirYou cannot have 2 teams back to back, and the one that won on the field is behind. You simply can’t. If they rig it to always have at least 1 team between us, ok. But you can’t say ND is 10 and Miami is 11. That simply cannot, and imo will not, happen.
Texas is 13, with 3 losses.
Vandy is 14, with 2 losses.
Anyone know what happened when they played?
OU is 8, at 10-2
Bama is 9, at 10-2
Anyone know what happened when they played?
Last week, Pitt was 22, at 8-3
GT was 23, at 9-2
Anyone know what happened when they played?
Miami very well might get left out. The odds say they will. But ND cannot be 10 and Miami be 11. That cannot happen.
