The argument is not NEW data points, it is that they can finally trigger the H2H rule with us and ND because we have no teams between us

There is no H2H “rule”. This is just something Yuracheck made up to string people along one more week just so that he can say “we considered H2H, but ultimately decided ND was more deserving because of this made-up/logically inconsistent reason”

Ideal weekend, which will never happen because it’s what we need:

UNLV beats Boise
Texas Tech absolutely trounces BYU
Bama beats UGA

The committee would have a direct Miami vs ND discussion. No pools. No tiers. No buffer. One to one.

The ONLY other scenario that would benefit us is if UGA trounces Bama which might cause Bama to fall out of the top 10 and Miami/ND get the final 2 spots (with BYU losing, obviously).

BYU earned the right to play in their CG and if they get trounced, they're out of the playoff. Aside from being in the sacred cow SEC, aren't these the same scenario? In any case, I acknowledged this would be a wild scenario but something to look at. Who knows with these CGs - there might be a big injury, etc.

But in general, yeah, we need BYU loss and a Bama win this weekend and then let the chips fall where they may.

And Duke beats UVA. They don’t want the ACC to have no one in the playoff — that’s bad for business. If Duke wins, I think it helps our case, too.

BYU fans would be ****ed if we jumped them tonight for no reason. If they lose next weekend, however, they can’t complain because they controlled their own destiny and screwed the pooch.
 
A month ago I predicted that ND ends up at 7 and Miami ends up at 10. That means a rematch in the first round with Note Dame getting home field advantage.

They will likely give Ole Miss the FSU 2023 treatment to make this happen.

The only bigger brand than the “U” is the SEC. Like ND, no one will give a **** if BYU gets beat and drops out except BYU fans.

It’s all BS. The committee has been saying for weeks they think ND is simply better than Miami . Period. H2H be damned. We are honestly pretty ****ed given they think that way

It’s easy to hide behind that argument when other teams separate us. That’s not going to be the case Sunday. Just watch.
