Miami vs ND On A Collision Course

Don't shoot the messenger, but it would be the most Miami thing the past two decades for BYU and Bama to win on Saturday and then next Tuesday the selection committee finally flips us and ND since we are next to each other. And then we are the 1st ones out rather than second

With our luck, byu gets beat by TTU and they stay ar 11.

Bama going to have to win for any chance. They’ll just swap bama and ND with a bama loss
I get why you and others would say that but a competitive loss they will not drop them. Two or more touchdowns where it’s not close? Yeah then I think they drop them.

The chair said the last 3 weeks the debate over ND and Bama has been very very strong. They moved Bama ahead of ND. The same Bama over the last 4 weeks who lost to a bad Oklahoma team, struggled against 5 win SC and were losing in the 4th qtr, beat a 3 win FCS team, and beat a 5 win team without a HC by 7 needing to be drug across the finish line by team SEC. We could have been scoring 100 points a game and we would stay at 12. The committee was given marching orders to get 5 or 6 sec teams in…..we are not a sec team. ND lost the faceoff to Bama. Where do you think we rate. You think this is going off who is most deserving?

Load the schedule up with potatoes and win the ******* ACC next year. That’s the only way we’re getting in.
SEC championship game participants are a must have for the playoffs for the committee. Notre Dame is a nice to have.

The debate was really a strategic discussion to minimize fall out JUST IN CASE Alabama loses so that the SEC won’t have a situation where the championship game participants don’t get in while 3 other schools in that same conference that didn’t make the championship game do. Maximize SEC allotments.

It’s over. Listen to this.

They have no idea what they are looking at. Mario needs to focus on winning the ACC and that’s it. That’s our only way in. Schedule 4 tomato cans for OOC and invest everything and strategize to win the ACC. Move the schedule around and put the FCS and G5 games mid year and in November. No reason we should be playing ND there in November. It can only hurt us. Schedule FAU for November and sandwich it between a couple ACC games.

After my last post, what if BYU wins and Alabama loses?

How does the SEC respond to that possibility?

The fix is in - Alabama is GUARANTEED to win this weekend. Bet your mortgage, lol

BYU lose and Alabama win. UM and Notre Dame will be right next to each other. Surely they will have to put us in.
Alabama is no longer a fsctor. If Alabama wins, they move up. A loss could keep them in thr top 10 or out. Either way, the Miami-ND debate us foing to happen.

The committee moving Alabama up was a direct move in favor of Miami. Alabama didn't do anything against Auburn deserving to move up in the rankings.

I would have preferred that the committee moved Miami above BYU. BYU has just been holding on. Moving Miami up would have sent a message to BYU that they need to win the Big 12 to get in. If BYU loses, there will be controversy of being penalized for playing in a conference championship.

Needless to say, we are in great shape!!! There is no way ND can get in over Miami. There only are is strength if sxhedule and "better" losses than Miami. Miami own the head to head. Miami has beat 4 of the same ACC teams ND did. Miami beat 3 of those 4 by a wider margin than ND. Not a big deal, but it checks a box. ND's best wins are USC and Navy. Miami's best wins are ND and South Florida.

BYU loses we are in.

Eh that’s not quite what he said but I get being a glass half full person. They are protecting themselves by saying the right things when at the end of the day, we know what’s gonna happen.

I’m gonna believe we have a chance until someone rips it away. why be a doomer when this stretch of the season is basically dopamine theater. lean in, enjoy the chaos

This has never been about Miami & ND. What it’s really about is loading the deck-and having five (5) teams from the same conference in the top 9.

Anyone involved in college football media oughta have sleepless nights for as long as they live for what they are allowing the Sec to do college football. Save maybe Georgia? The SEC is full of above average teams. One doesn’t have an offense-and the one that did-lost its Head coach & playcaller & entire offensive staff. Another one had the softest schedule in the conference. This is an absolute disgrace to the best sport in the world.

it’s the entire ecosystem. The CAA, ESPN, and a tight circle of coaches/ex coaches and commentators who've known each other for decades control the narrative. It’s a boys club with consolidated influence, and fans are left dealing with the consequences because we care too much to walk away.

That’s what happens when you have a good cut throat commissioner.
Instead we have Jimbo Phillips

We went from +600 to +1000 in the last 10 mins 😂

Give these posts a rest. It’s about signing day, the portal, and 2026 now. Who’s our quarterback?

And now we’re right back to +650. They’re really gonna make me actually think about this just to have the final rankings be ND 10th and Miami 11th, aren’t they??

They dropped ND from 9th to 10th.

They didn't need to do that. Why did they do it? Because it is a rstings bonanza for their last playoff selection show. BYU loses Miami is SIDE BY SIDE ND with a head to head win AND better wins against common opponents.

Why blow your load early when you can milk this one more week?

I think Miami gets in.The table has been set.
they did it to move Bama up and protect them no matter what happens on Saturday. If they lose a close one, they will be in. UGA would have to beat them down in order for them to fall out of a position to be in. Nothing about that move has anything to do with setting up Miami to get in.
