Miami opens up as a slight underdog vs. Notre Dame

If UM can contain ND's running game, I like UM's chances of winning the game because Notre Dame is breaking in a new QB and their receiver group is overrated, IMO. I understand that UM's secondary was pretty weak last season, but I think its been upgraded with Xavier Lucas and Zechariah Poyser.

Provided Beck returns to form after his injury, Miami has the advantage on offense. The receiver group is young and inexperienced, but Lofton is a play maker and should help open up the young receivers. Mark Fletcher and Jordan Lyle will prevent ND from trying to take away the pass.

Have we played a game I did not know about that have you concerned with DT and LB position?

It’s a projection, should we not talk about potential advantages and disadvantages on a message board in the heart of the offseason?

Why I have concerns about our DT position facing a top 5 if not top overall OL in CFB.

DT:

Moten- Rotational guy who’s showed some flashes.

Blay- G5 moving up a level always a ?. Lots of potential here though.

Scott- 5 star with 4 career tackles during his frosh year. What does he become in year 2?

Jones/Russell/Simpson/Newton- ?

Very little depth with no proven guys. That has me concerned.

You said “I refuse to believe a QB making his first start ever gonna come on the road and win”, as if it some rare thing. Plenty of QB’s at top tier programs win their first start on the road. At the moment, Vegas has is in a 50/50 game with ND having an edge even at home with a new QB. They don’t seem to think Miami is as impressive as you do. I see you’re sensitive to any notion of reality so I’ll let you drown in your kool aide.

Everything you say is true.

I'd also like to think that the same Miami maniacs who made the 2017 game SO LOUD will show up again to rattle the new Irish QB.

There are more factors at play, but I do believe that it is harder for a first-time starting QB to hold it together against (1) a very good team in (2) a very hostile stadium.

Then it will be up to the $6M man and his bionic elbow to do what he can to score enough points to win.

They’re coming in really confident. I think they’ll travel just as well as 2017. They just went to the natty. 2017 was 8 years ago man

I hope they travel just as well as they did in 2017.

Since my season tix are between the 40s on the away side, I will enjoy seeing all of their mopey fans down in the Lexus North Sideline Club for most of the game.

Idk about “special” but their defense should be pretty good and keep them in every game on their schedule. Also, Love may be one of the best RB’s in the country. That kid is a problem. ND will be our toughest opponent on paper by far.

Is he really though? You limit the big run by him he can be stopped he had one game with over 16 carries last year, it’s not like he’s some workhorse.

In 2024, as a Sophomore, he ran for 1,125 yards, 17 TD’s, and 7 yards per attempt. He’s literally going to be one of the best RB’s in the country. What are you talking about?
