This game will come down to turnovers
The team that protects the ball will when
Maybe. Good chance both teams create turnovers. I hope it doesn’t come down to special teams. If it does and we win, we may be headed for a special season. Our offense is going to be very good, our defense has a shot to be very good. Special teams other than the kickers has been abysmal and Notre Dame’s are exceptional, because they work really hard at it. I am not sure Mario really understands special teams. We have seen a lot of evidence he does not.

Miami hasn’t shown up for a Labor Day weekend primetime game since 2009 at FSU. They **** the bed at Maryland in 2011, at Louisville in 2014, and in Arlington against LSU in 2018. Not holding my breath for this one.
Name the 3 starting QB's we had in those games.

Beck alone is better than all 3 put together.

Hope the atmosphere is electric, but safe. We get the reputation of it being otherwise, and we’ll be stuck in the ACC forever.
It’s a BS reputation. We’re not much worse than any other fanbase when it comes to putting obnoxious rowdy away team fans in their place. Along with drunken home team fans yelling at anyone who is wearing the away team jersey.

That an opinion....how do we know where the weaknesses are? Anyone with creed on this board says there is a weakness, then everyone just blindly follows suit. QB RB OL CB S could all be a weakness for all we know!!
Ok then tell us why you think LB and DT aren’t a weakness in your opinion.

Morris who was filling in for a suspended Jacory, true freshman Brad Kaaya, and Rosier. You are missing the point.
Actually you are. This Miami team is going in with a top 5 QB in the nation and a top 5 OL. This team is way better than those years you mentioned.

But keep hating because you're one of the best at it.

So if I understand this correct, we're going to suck because we always suck and have an all new QB. Likewise, ND is going to kick our *** because they are always good despite having a brand new QB.

If anyone is confidently predicting a victory, they are just a homer and Vegas agrees. This will be our toughest game.

If you disagree with something at least have the decency to explain why

Talk about ho **** that’s exactly what that is

Both teams have a lot of new pieces and it’s week 1

That’s always tough to predict

It’s not much to go on but so far we have been better earlier in the season under Mario and Notre Dame has had a couple of glitches early in their seasons under Freeman (Marshall and NIU were both week 2s)

I really like our chances here but same time I’m too old for that prediction **** in college football

In 2024, as a Sophomore, he ran for 1,125 yards, 17 TD’s, and 7 yards per attempt. He’s literally going to be one of the best RB’s in the country. What are you talking about?
Poor man's Mark Fletcher at best and I don't want to hear anything more about it...

We roll!

You must have forgot Mario is Miami’s HC

I also lived through Butch Davis who wasn't a great game day coach and would get booed going into the tunnel at the OB. They also flew a banner over the OB. Well that same coach put together the greatest college football team ever.

Mario is doing his best to build this team for the future.

Hope to see you still around when he does.

I don't know if they're a weakness and neither do you or anyone else for that matter!!
This scheme is geared to LB's making plays. This D is going to be light years better than last years.

Lol yea Mario won’t do **** here. And my only defense for him is this isn’t all on him. The game has completely changed with the portal and NIL. You have guys leaving after 1-2 years instead of being patient. He has to pull double duty bringing in recruits and rerecruiting his current roster.

This is a fair line to start at. For both teams, there are a lot of unknowns. I will say, though, that people really are glossing over the fact that ND will have a RS Freshman QB making his first ever start in an extremely hostile environment.

They’re going to rely on their run game, heavily, but that QB is going to have to make a few big plays too. On our end, we have a guy with more big game experience than any QB we’ve had here since Dorsey or Brock Berlin. Add in an elite OL, solid RH room, and some talent at TR and receiver and this offense has the potential to put up points.

Also think people are going to be astonished at how much better our secondary is compared to last year. We massively upgraded that room. Still have concerns about DT and depth at LB though.
