Good morning, everyone! We are just 98 days away from Miami's season opener against Notre Dame. Last week, FanDuel released the odds for some Week 1 games, and, as you might expect, the Canes are entering their home opener as underdogs. Who doesn't love a good underdog story, right?

The Fighting Irish are entering the game as the early favorites, even though their quarterback, CJ Carr, will be making his first collegiate start. The Irish are slight favorites, with a spread of 1.5 points over the Hurricanes. The total for the game is set at 53.5 points.

Last year, Notre Dame reached the national championship game against the national champions, Ohio State. The Irish finished the season with a record of 14-2. During the playoffs, Notre Dame faced tough competition, defeating Indiana, Penn State, and Georgia, with the win over Penn State taking place at Hard Rock Stadium. However, the Irish have yet to win against Miami at Hard Rock Stadium. Since the stadium opened in 1987, Notre Dame's record against the Hurricanes there is 0-2.

The last time the Fighting Irish faced the Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium was in 2017. During that game, Kirk Herbstreit remarked on national television, "I don't know if I've heard anything louder than this" about the stadium atmosphere. The Hurricanes delivered a dominating performance from start to finish, defeating the Irish 41-8 in the top-10 matchup.

Here are the ACC opening lines for Week 0 and 1 on FanDuel:

  • Aug. 28: Colorado vs. Georgia Tech (-3.5)
  • Aug. 29: Syracuse vs. Tennessee (-12.5)
  • Aug. 30: Florida State vs. Alabama (-11.5)
  • Aug. 30: LSU vs. Clemson (-2.5)
  • Augt. 30: Virginia Tech vs. South Carolina (-9.5)
  • Aug. 31: TCU vs. North Carolina (-1.5)
  • Aug. 31: Miami vs. Notre Dame (-1.5)

Pretty simple game plan: stop the ND run and we just might win…handily. Very tough task, however, as the Irish OL and RBs look great.

On O, I’m looking for Beck to use our TEs and RBs as receivers early in the game. Get time of possession and explore mismatches. If that works, we can work in the longer routes to Jojo and others.

My ideal? Get an early lead and force ND to try their passing game before they want to. Let Bain and Mesidor loose to attack the rookie QB.

Coach to win, not not to lose.

and

**** Notre Dame

FCK The Fighting Frenchmen, its a church in France **** it nothing Irish about them. ***aloon fleur de lis corcksuckers! Down to the very ****les of my soul do I hate them

We need to score fast. Not of this control the time crap. That is ND gameplan. They have the OLine,RB and DL. We have to make them have CJ Carr pass.

They aren’t without glaring holes and replacing Golden may be easier since they have talent but immediately being elite on defense I dunno.
